Select this button with the D-Pad and A button, or tap it if you’re in handheld mode. To save or load a level in Super Mario Maker 2's Course Maker mode, simply select the Save/Load button the right side of the screen. In handheld mode, this can be accomplished simply by tapping on the button with your finger or a Nintendo Switch compatible stylus.
To save the level to a new slot, use the Save As function once more. Using the Save function also allows the course to be shared by using the Upload option. The Save dialog expands with new options after a level has been saved.

If you want to save someone else’s levels, you can do that as well in Super Mario Maker 2. You can do this in a couple of different ways. You can search for new courses in Course World. Clicking on any course in this area will give you the option to download it.
