I Hate The Cold!!

I hated the cold which is why I moved to a tropical beachside paradise, but in recent years I have been reading about the benefits of cold water therapy on the immune system, longevity and health in general.

The Fundamentals Course

A 60 minute video teaching the weeks lesson in a small class setting, this involves learning the breathing technique which evolves as the course progresses, plus instructions on yoga and exercise to help you get the most out of the breathing exercises.

Homework

You reinforce your practice throughout the week with additional homework assignments. These include further breathing sessions, and of course the infamous cold shower. As you get further into the course, the assignments get progressively more challenging, gradually building up your mental and physical strength and resilience.

The course comes with a workbook that provides a very helpful structural framework. Logging your results each week not only helps keep you accountable, but quantifying your progress and seeing it back on a page can be tremendously motivating.

Wim Hof Breathing

I do a lot of yoga. So the stretches in the videos were not new to me. The most important takeaway for me is that it’s helpful to do some yogic stretches before the breathing to open up space in the chest cavity. For most of the days this week, I achieved this by doing my regular yoga.
