Minamoto no Yoshitsune - Minamoto no Yoshitsune was a nobleman and military commander of the Minamoto clan of Japan in the late Heian and early Kamakura periods. During the Kamakura period the newly arisen samurai class began to supersede the ancient civil aristocracy, which nonetheless continued to maintain the classical culture.
