Mar 21, 2017 · Thanks for changing this to a discussion! I'm thinking our course quota must be much larger than most other institutions allow. We have our course quota set to 1GB. For the most part, instructors don't even get close to 1GB though. We have box (w/unlimited storage) and so we encourage faculty to store files in box and link to them in Canvas.

May 18, 2020 · Access to your Canvas course (s) will depend on how your school's Canvas admins have chosen to handle enrollments. For example, some schools send enrollments from the school SIS (Student Information System) every hour on the hour, while other schools may only send enrollments a few times a day.
Canvas courses will remain in Canvas for four years from the date of creation.
In Canvas, your old course sites may disappear from your dashboard and your current courses list at the end of the semester. This happens only once a course is completed, and you can rest assured that your course has not been deleted from the system.
When a course is archived, it will no longer appear on your Canvas Dashboard or in your All Courses List. If you do not wish to have a particular course archived, you may temporarily delay this process with the new Course Archive Manager tool.Aug 20, 2019

You are not registered for the course. Check the detailed class schedule to confirm whether you are registered for that course. The Canvas course site is not yet published by the instructor. A course site isn't visible to students until the instructor manually publishes the Canvas site.Aug 24, 2021
To close / end a course:Navigate to the course settings.Select the Course details tab.In the Ends box, enter the end date.Select the Users can only participate in the course between these dates option.At the bottom of the screen, select Update course details.
Once you Publish your Canvas course site, you do not have to republish it again if you add new content. You only have to Publish the site once. You can Unpublish the course by going to the Home page and clicking Unpublish. This will remove the Dashboard Card link from all student accounts.

Courses from the current term will be listed at the top. Future enrollments for the upcoming term will be at the bottom of the screen. Courses in which you are enrolled in Canvas but have not yet been published by the instructor will show in black font, with the "unpublished" label as pictured above.
