Once Blackboard term expires, about 3-4 weeks after exams are over, students should see the course listed, but may no longer have access unless 1) the instructor has closed the course (e.g., made it unavailable) or marked it complete.
This situation usually happens if you mark a student absent in the Attendance Verification Form at the beginning of the semester and then after submission of the form need to reverse the student’s status to Attending. Before the attendance correction the student will be withdrawn form the course and blocked from accessing the Blackboard section.

Open a course card's menu to change your course availability. You can also change your course's status on the Course Content page. You can make your course private while you add or experiment with content, and then open it to students when you're ready. Students see private courses in their course lists, but they can't access them.
Mark a course as complete. You can choose to set your course to Complete when the course has ended, but you can no longer make changes to it . Students can access the content, but they can't participate in the course any longer. For example, they can't reply to discussions or submit assignments.

1. With Edit Mode set to ON, identify the menu item you wish to hide or delete.
4. The menu item will be hidden. A symbol showing this will appear when the menu item is viewed with Edit Mode set to ON. When the course is viewed by students, or by yourself when Edit Mode is OFF, the menu item will not be shown. To undo this, click on Show Link from the same menu.
5. To delete a menu item, hover your mouse over the menu item concerned, click on the action button and choose delete.
6. You will be presented with a warning that all content items within the menu item you are deleting will also be deleted. Click on delete content only if you are sure this is what you want . There is no “undo” function.
Student access to summer semester courses ends on October 1. Student access to fall semester courses ends on February 1.
All Blackboard courses are automatically hidden from students. If the name of your course is followed by the words “NOT AVAILABLE”, that course exists on Blackboard but is currently hidden from the students.
