In user or group files, click the line item for the file [1]. Click the Delete icon [2]. Or click the Options icon [3] and then click the Delete link [4].

Once you delete a course, the course will be completely removed from your institution's account and will not be viewable by you, prior students, or the account administrator.
If you only want to remove the course from Courses & Groups in the Global Navigation, you can change the course end date, or if you have permission, conclude your course instead. Before you delete your course, make sure you have a record of your Course ID number.
Which courses display on your Dashboard when you log in can be managed by clicking the ‘Courses’ icon then selecting ‘All Courses’. The stars on the left are the way you select which courses you want to see when you log in on the Dashboard.
The courses for each semester or term will be managed within the system. You will eventually see them removed from your list. While the system will add and eventually remove these you may want to use the ‘Favorites’ star feature from above to remove course shells you are no longer actively teaching from the Dashboard.
You have the ability to delete these shells from the Settings page in your navigation.

When you reset course content, you reset all content in the course including: Course ID—external URLs will no longer direct back to the course unless they are manually changed. Course details and enrollments will remain intact within your course.
If you have permission as an instructor , you can reset course content with your course settings in Canvas. However, resetting course content permanently removes all content and it cannot be recovered.
Removing a course from the Dashboard simply removes it from that view, it will not remove it from the all courses page.
Unfortunately, we don’t delete courses from Canvas. We recommend unpublishing the course or simply following the directions above to remove it from your Dashboard.
To delete all course content from your Canvas course: 1 Navigate to the course with the content you wish to delete. 2 From the course navigation menu, select Settings. 3 In the "Settings" sidebar at the right, select Delete All Course Content. You will be prompted to confirm. To proceed, click Reset Course Content, or click Cancel to cancel. 4 If you selected Reset Course Content, a completely new course shell with a new ID (the number following "https://iu.instructure.com/courses/...") will be generated. All users previously enrolled in the course will remain enrolled.
Completely resetting your course is a two-step process. First, you'll delete the existing course content, and then you'll reapply the default settings for the course. When new SIS and manually created courses are generated in Canvas, the course home page, navigation, and settings are automatically updated to reflect defaults established by Indiana University or your campus, school, or department (for more about course defaults, see Distribute templates to Canvas courses in your campus, school, or department ).
You may overwrite your course syllabus or other content in your course with content in the default template. If you already created content in your course site, you may want to consider making a copy of your course before applying the template. If you made customizations to the settings or navigation of the course, you may need to reset them.
