All students and alumni are asked to make transcript requests via the Hofstra portal using their network ID to log in. Click on the Primary Navigation icon in the top left corner to access the complete drop-down menu. Choose the Student Services tab and click on “Request Printed/Official Transcript” under Student Records.
A student transferring to Hofstra with more than 30 credits graded on a Pass/D+/D/Fail basis must have the approval of the Undergraduate Academic Affairs Committee. For these students, courses graded on this basis shall not exceed fifty percent of the total credit hours required for the degree.
The privilege of auditing courses is not available to students currently enrolled at Hofstra or at other institutions of higher education. Additionally, students admitted to professional schools may not audit Hofstra courses in preparation for their enrollment at those institutions.
Visiting undergraduate students shall not be permitted to enroll in graduate courses at Hofstra. Hofstra University recognizes that students and/or faculty may miss class due to religious observances. Students who anticipate missing class for this reason should notify faculty members in advance.
A passing grade constitutes a grade of C- or better, except at New College where a passing grade constitutes a grade of C or better. In HCLAS, the Pass/D+/D/Fail option is restricted to 15 semester hours. The total number of Pass/D+/D/Fail semester hours may not exceed 30.

If you are made repeat with attendance, this means that you have not achieved enough credits to progress onto the next level of your course or to achieve your qualification. You will have to repeat any modules that you have failed.
For the three-week session, no undergraduate student may take more than one three- or four-credit course. Exceptions to the above may be granted when special circumstances and the student's special capacities for the work permit.
The letter grade D is considered passing since it lies between 60-69%. Any grade that is above 60% is considered passing in college.

Even if you do fail, you can retake the class and ask for help. Although it will negatively impact your GPA and could affect your financial obligations, you can bounce back. Start by asking for more help and studying differently or harder if you retake the course. Most importantly, don't give up.
Repeat & Retake of Course(s) A student obtaining “F” grade in any course in any Trimester will have to “Repeat” the course with full payment of tuition fee for that particular course. Students desiring to improve their grade(s) may again take up course(s) which are termed as “Retake”.
Retaking a course may raise your student's GPA (grade point average). In many schools, if a student retakes a course, the most recent grade will replace the lower grade in the student's GPA. The earlier, lower grade will remain on the transcript, but will not be included in the GPA.

Hofstra's dual degree programs allow you to earn both an undergraduate and graduate degree in less time than if each degree was pursued separately.
How will my credits transfer from my current and/or previous schools to Hofstra? Courses with grades of C- or better may be transferred from your previous college. As long as the course is comparable to a Hofstra course and your previous institution is regionally accredited, you will receive credit.
Undergraduate Records, located in Room 207 Memorial Hall, helps those undergraduate students who are not in their semester of graduation. This office will help with issues such as changing personal/academic information and questions about their degree audit. The degree audit is a student's roadmap to graduation.
