For an industry obsessed about testing (especially unit testing), it sure doesn't care to teach anyone how to test

Seriously, in school hardly any mention of unit testing at all (in before someone names a random school that does. The point is most do not). Then, when you enter the workforce, they just expect you to understand unit testing. For Spring boot for example. You can have a massive Enterprise level API being built out.

Do you guys actually work 9-5 only? Or it gets extended generally everyday?

I am generally working 10-9 everyday. No complains about pay or workload but I was wondering if working past the office hours is norm in this industry.
