If you are copying your own content from one course shell to another, the “Copy a Canvas course” option is the recommended way to copy your course. Go to Course Settings Click on “Import Course Content” on the right side of the screen Choose Content Type “Copy a Canvas course”
Copy Course Materials into an Existing Course: Copying course materials into an existing course will add content to a course, but it won't remove existing content. You can only copy materials into a course if you have the role of instructor, teaching assistant (TA), or course builder.
Content: Course materials, including uploaded files, learning modules, and links are copied. Course information, course documents, assignments, and URLs are optional. Assignments created inside lesson plans won't copy properly.
Copy links and copies of the content (include entire course home folder): Make copies of all files in the course's home folder regardless of whether those files are linked to course content. You need manage permission on an item to include copies of those files.
The course ID must be unique and remain static. After you create the copied course, you can't edit the course ID. If you chose Copy Course Materials into a New Course or Copy Materials into an Existing Course, select the course materials that you want to copy over.

Reusing content inside UNM Learn is easy and powerful. You can use the Course Copy function to copy a class from one semester to another; to move materials from a temporary course to a real one, to copy from a child to a parent course if you have grouped your classes, etc.
Copying is an additive process! If you copy items that you copied before or that are already in the course, duplicates will be created including any associated grade book columns.
Within the previous semesters course from which you would like to copy materials, click on Control Panel.
You can choose the Select All button and it will check all of the possible content that can be copied over to the new class or you can individually select content and tools you would like to copy.
Before starting the course copy process, ensure you are in the new/empty course in which you’d like to copy content. (You will be copying content from another course into this course).
