In one of the heresy threads from a while back we discussed that the blowing of the horn three times is a symbolic gesture around guest right (either granting it or asking for it, depending on the blower)... so use this to inform you as you like, won't drag you down the rabbit hole if you do not want to go
· When conditions have improved and play can safely resume the Club will re-open the course. 3 short blasts on the air horn will be sounded on the 1st tee to advise players who choose to remain on...
For this delay, it was one long sound, meaning a "dangerous situation" where players are required to mark their balls. If the horn is three short blows, like for darkness, they have the option to finish the hole or mark. As for the second part of your question, I believe they have to count the messed up shot, however I'm not sure. 3 level 1 LWulsin

Play will continue until the air horns are sounded indicating play is suspended: ONE PROLONGED NOTE, for an immediate suspension (imminent danger, such as lightning). THREE CONSECUTIVE NOTES, for a normal suspension (such as for darkness or when the course is unplayable). TWO SHORT NOTES, signal resumption of play.
Hailstorms, sudden downpours, gales or whirlwinds can also be potentially dangerous. A system of sirens should allow the golf course personnel to warn everyone who is staying anywhere in the area as soon as possible.
The Club has a lightning detection device to help us determine when it is dangerous to be on the golf course. Lightning is a severe hazard that must be viewed seriously. Players must immediately stop play and seek shelter any time they believe lightning threatens them, even if a signal has not been sounded.
If the Committee declares an immediate suspension of play, all players must stop play at once and must not make another stroke until the Committee resumes play. Normal suspension (such as for darkness or unplayable course).
When the bad weather siren is sounded, ALL players must immediately stop playing, mark their balls where the ball lies, and immediately proceed to the clubhouse or appropriate shelter. Players CANNOT continue to play out a hole after the siren has been sounded.
If the event is a qualifying competition for handicap purposes the competition should be abandoned (CONGU® UHS Clause 18.7) and the result becomes CSS = SSS Reduction Only with handicap adjustments made only for competitors with a Nett Differential of less than zero.
Yes. You can play golf in the rain provided it poses no threat to player safety, and if the course remains playable and not waterlogged. If water begins pooling on the fairways and greens, or if lightning is present, it is recommended to halt play until conditions improve.
Golf is not a game to be played hampered or 'blind-folded' by thick mist and fog – it could even land you in court. The law states that you can be liable if you hit a shot knowing that it could be a danger to others. Negligence, however, has to be proved.
These rules have to be followed and golfers cannot just take it upon to leave the course because it is raining or windy. The only time a golfer may leave the course is if lightning has been seen.
Do NOT lie on the ground. Avoid water and find a low-lying open place which is far from trees and metal objects. Don't rush back out onto the course straight away. Wait 30 minutes after the last lightning flash before resuming play, as over half of lightning deaths occur after the storm has passed.
You can get struck by lightning while holding up a golf club on the fairway because it acts like a lightning rod, making you a tall object on the course.
What you should do if lightning approaches is the following: Squat down with your hands on your knees, with your head placed between them. Try to make contact with as little ground as possible. By making yourself as small a target as possible, you give yourself as good a chance of avoiding the lightning as possible.
What Is the Likelihood of Being Struck by Lightning? The odds of being struck by lightning on a golf course is 1:3,000.
Blowing the horn 3 times for Others is just a code the Night's Watch agreed to.
You know what, there may be something important about blowing the dragon horn three times. However, I doubt it is connected to the nights watch blowing 3 times for others (ie. calling dragons ) but who knows, George has kept many cards close to his chest regarding the dragons, so many theories around.
Interesting.... three dragons, three heads of dragons as a sigil, three blows of a horn...
Maybe I am grasping at straws here, but is there any correlation between blowing horns three times for dragons and Others?

Well there is one pill that makes you larger and one pill that makes you smaller and the ones in this thread don't do anything at all :- (
He told them each to blow it once so they will do as he pleases. They may die and they may not. He doesn't care.
When play is discontinued in a golf tournament or match because of darkness, the player is allowed to finish the hole he is on under most circumstances. There are some circumstances where the player will mark his ball and leave it at the spot at darkness and then resume play the next day, and that usually occurs when the word is put out to stop play and the news gets to the players later. That can happen if the group is spread out on a particular hole and the official walking with the group needs time to let everyone know. It could take more than five minutes for the official to let all players know what has been decided regarding continued play.

If a tournament has a shotgun start, here's how it works: Say there are 18 groups of four golfers each entered in the tournament. Each of those groups is assigned to a different hole on the golf course.
A shotgun start means that all the golfers get underway at the same time, rather than teeing off at regular intervals from the No. 1 tee. Imagine the tee times are spaced 10 minutes apart. That means that it takes roughly 180 minutes for 18 groups of golfers to begin their rounds using such ...

Do not go too fast.#N#Accidents can be prevented by using safe speeds and only going fast when the conditions allow for it, and you have enough space to slow down if needed.
