The three primary goals of the course are to give the student (1) an understanding of diverse populations individuals and their disabilities; (2) an understanding of the role of recreation and leisure in the life of diverse populations; and (3) an introduction to the field of therapeutic recreation services.

Professionals have specific writing guidelines to foster a common "language" for communicating research findings and documenting sources. Students in Marriage and Family Studies use the format prescribed in the American Psychological Association (APA) style guide when writing papers. You will be introduced to APA style resources in Week 04 and given a short quiz. You may take the quiz as many times as you wish. However, you will receive the average of your scores, so you would be well advised to be prepared in your first attempt.
The Ponder & Prove activity this week will be to apply the Code & Fix software development methodology to a simulated medium-size project. To accomplish this, three things will be provided: (1) a description of the Code & Fix development methodology, (2) a description of the scenario to which you will apply the Code & Fix methodology, and (3) a description of the assignment expectations.
The first deliverable is your plan—namely how you will adapt the Code & Fix methodology to the problem you are solving using the team you currently have. Make sure you mention four parts in your plan:
The Code & Fix development methodology is not actually a development methodology at all. In fact, it is the default state of working without a methodology! This is probably how you attacked problems early in your coding career (hopefully not now). Given a problem, you simply start writing code. When finished, compile it, test it, and fix any obvious bugs. There are few documents created in this process with the exception of any scribbles on the back of scratch paper or drawings on a white board.
