What is fully online course?

Fully online courses are interactive courses using the Web. You use technology to access your online content, communicate with your peers and instructor, participate in activities, and submit assessments. Cable TV courses are broadcast over Spectrum Digital Channel 355 (or QAM channel 46.55.

What is DE in education?

Distance Education (DE), also called Distance Learning (DL), e-learning, and online learning courses are courses delivered and facilitated electronically over the Internet or cable television. DE allows you to have a flexible school schedule. You’ll receive a quality education in a flexible online format that fits your busy lifestyle.

Can you watch a course on cable TV?

You may watch the course at the time of broadcast or record it for a more convenient viewing. All cable TV courses also have an online component, so you will need to use technology to access additional course material, communicate with your peers and instructor, participate in activities, and submit assignments.

5 week online courses

Earn 3 credits in 5 weeks. Each semester Leeward offers several courses that fulfill a general education or graduation requirement. It's a great opportunity to accelerate your your degree completion. Listing of the next set of courses, which start in February and March, 2019.

Our AA degree (Liberal Arts) can be earned totally online in two ways.

Leeward to Manoa

A new and unique, entirely online option to pursue a Bachelor's degree from UH Manoa's College of Social Sciences. Support services include a concierge advising and free online tutoring. Details on the Leeward to Manoa pathway.

Program Overview

The AA Degree is a general education and pre-professional degree designed to provide you with skills and competencies in a wide range of subjects and is a stepping stone on the way to further educational goals.

AA Degree Overall Requirements

Minimum cumulative grade-point average of 2.0 GPR or better for all courses used to meet the degree requirements (Transfer coursework is not calculated into the GPR)

ABOUT Disability Services

The purpose of Disability Services is to give support and assistance with learning. Disability Services Office provides services to students with documented disabilities that allow them to access the instruction in their classrooms.

Disability Specialists view all materials pertaining to a student’s disability as confidential. All disability-related information for students at Leeward Community College is housed in the Disability Services Office. Only staff persons working at Disability Services has access to these files.

RIGHTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF STUDENTS WITH DISABILITIES

Students must self-identify as needing disability services in a timely manner to the Disability Services Office, preferably before or at the start of the semester.

Student Responsibilities

To give their professors accommodation letters notifying them of the need for special testing arrangements as soon as possible. Students are advised to obtain letters prior to the examination date, rather than on the date of the exam.
