How long is the BHT exam?

Currently the BHT certification package is thirty hours long and consists of a series of courses, each with their own exams. Students have 3 chances to pass the exam, after which there could be a fee to reset the exam. The most common reason to fail an exam is the material was not read.

What is a mental health credential?

An entry-level credential for people who are providing support services to adults or children who are receiving substance abuse or mental health services in residential programs, in-patient settings or community based programs.

Attendance is mandatory. To take the Board Certification exam to become an RBT, you must complete 40 hours of training. As a Registered Behavior Technician, it is imperative that you understand and apply the concepts and principles of Applied Behavior Analysis. There will be in class activities worth up to 40 points. You must be in class to complete these activities.

What is a registered behavior technician?

Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) are paraprofessionals that work in the field of Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA). RBTs work under direct, continuous supervision of a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), a Board-Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA), or/and Florida Certified Behavior Analysts (FL-CBA). This is an 8-week training course designed to meet the 40 hours required for the RBT credential. It is provided outside of the BACB. It is based on the 6 Task Items on the Registered Behavior Technician Task List. This course is designed to prepare you for the RBT Competency Assessment and the Board Certification exam. Successful completion of this course is contingent on passing the course with at least a 90%.
