Any student enrolled in a UW course at their high school earns high school credit. But to earn UW credit at the same time, you must register through UWHS and pay the associated fees. For the 2021–2022 school year, the registration deadline for first-semester and yearlong courses is October 26, 2021.

Add a class Select the Add tab. If prompted select the term, then Continue. The easiest way to add classes is to have the class numbers ready (viewable on the Schedule of Classes). Enter the class number in the box and select the Enter button.

Sign up for free course notifications for open and closed course sections via email or text. Notify.UW also provides notifications when a course first closes, allowing students to re-evaluate their desired schedule each quarter. This service is free to all students and integrated with other UW registration tools including the Time Schedule and MyUW.
Courses are displayed by quarter and by campus. Students can browse through various college and departmental programs or jump to a specific program using the index at the top of the page. Courses offered by departments are displayed along with their meeting days, times, and other pertinent information.
Undergraduates must declare a major by the time they have completed five (5) academic-year quarters and earned 105 credits or a hold will be placed on their registration until they either declare a major, or meet with an adviser and receive a pre-major extension. The hold is placed on the student record when five (5) or more academic-year quarters and 105 or more credits have been completed. Transfer students who are admitted to the University with 105 or more credits are expected to declare a major before their second quarter at the UW, or obtain an extension from an adviser.
Affected courses should be identified in the Time Schedule and/or posted in departmental offices.
Because most degrees require 180 credits, students generally must complete their programs by the time they earn 210 credits. The timing for enforcement of this policy is as follows:
Auditors may not participate in class discussion or laboratory work and course registration may be canceled at the discretion of the instructor. Audit credits count in the calculation of fees and included in the billing on a fee statement. Auditors, except ACCESS program students, pay standard tuition and fees.
Regularly admitted students may audit a course by completing the below process. The audit option can be changed after the registration period has begun through the end of the second week of the quarter.

The Committee on Admissions and Academic Standards may terminate a student’s enrollment when having demonstrated lack of academic progress as evidenced by excessive course repeats, course drops, or University withdrawals and cancellations. A student may be reinstated with the approval of the college and the Committee. Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) students may be reinstated in consultation with the Office of Minority Affairs & Diversity (OMAD).
To enroll in a UW class as a non-degree student, you must obtain the necessary approvals on the Registration Approval form. If you don’t already have the signatures, email the appropriate academic department and instructor to request approval to register. E-mailed instructor and departmental registration approvals are acceptable in place of the Registration Approval form.
To register as a graduate nonmatriculated (GNM) student, you’ll need to apply for GNM status first. Contact the academic department directly for information on applying. Be sure to ask about application deadlines — these dates are set by each graduate program.
Note that enrollment as a non-degree student is on a standby, space-available basis only and cannot be guaranteed. If you can’t be enrolled, you’ll be issued a full refund.
