Hello and welcome to the Canvas Community! To address your question, students are not able to delete their enrollment status in courses. You would need to contact the instructor or an administrator for the institution to request the removal.

To delete all course content from your Canvas course:Navigate to the course with the content you wish to delete.From the course navigation menu, select Settings.In the "Settings" sidebar at the right, select Delete All Course Content. You will be prompted to confirm.
Note: You can only drop a self-enrolled Canvas course while it is in progress (between the course start date and end date). Also, if you did not enroll in the course using the given URL or join code, meaning you were manually or automatically added to the course, you will have to ask your teacher or institution to be removed from the course.

In addition, Canvas includes tools tips to describe certain thing on the screen. Hovering your mouse over the stars will tell you why you can or cannot star a course.
If there are no gold stars then Canvas will display all courses listed within above the Past Enrollments section.
Students: You courses will appear on your Dashboard when two conditions are met. One, the course has been published by your instructor. Two, the term has started. Your instructor can make the course available early by changing the course dates.
Only your current courses can be added or removed from your Dashboard. The list of those courses appear above Past Enrollments. Any courses from Past Enrollments and below can not be starred.
Instructors: Due to frequent requests, Canvas course shells automatically appear on instructor’s dashboards several terms before they begin. Course shells can be hidden from the dashboard as desired using the instructions below.
In case you are a student, you've got a few options, depending on what you want to do: If you no longer want to be enrolled in the course, you' ll need to contact your school directly. Each school has its own policies and procedures for maintaining student enrollments.

In Canvas, click the Courses menu, and click “ Remove me from unneeded courses ”. A list of your unpublished and migrated courses is displayed. If you have more than 10 courses, type part of a course name and click Search to filter by a course name or semester.
To delete a class on your app: Tap your Profile Icon and tap the Class you want to archive. Tap the wrench in the top right corner and then tap Class Settings. Scroll down to the bottom of screen and tap Archive Class. View grades and submissions of dropped students in Canvas.

Log in to Canvas. Click the Courses tab on the garnet global navigation menu on the left of the screen. Click the All Courses link from the menu that appears. On the All Courses page, scroll down to Past Enrollments.
The Dashboard helps you see what is happening in all your courses and allows you to figure out what to do next. You can return to your User Dashboard at any time by clicking the Dashboard link in the Global Navigation menu on the left.
Canvas Network is a unique, or separate, instance of Canvas. Your credentials from another Canvas account aren't connected to the Canvas Network instance. (It's like having two Toyota Corollas in the driveway that look the same but require a different key.)
Once the student removes the course, their enrollment in the Canvas course will be automatically removed within 2 hours.
When the academic term ends, all courses shift to a read-only state. Once the course is in this state, enrollments cannot be added or removed from the site.
Because official enrollments are created outside of and then synched down to Canvas, official enrollments cannot be modified or removed directly from Canvas. Any modification to official enrollments must be made in the system where the enrollment originated.
Official Canvas enrollments populated by a student's schedule/worksheet can only be removed by that student dropping the course from their schedule/worksheet.

Follow these steps to create a course in Canvas: Log in to evolve.elsevier.com as an instructor and access your Evolve Content page. Click ‘Access Canvas provided by Elsevier’. Please note: This link will only appear for instructors that have opted to use Canvas provided by Elsevier. Click ‘Start a new course’ in your Canvas Dashboard main menu.

To drop a student from a class section, go to Students in the top navigation menu. Click Drop Student from the Actions column next to the student’s name. Students can’t drop themselves from a class section. Screenshot 20.png
