- LearnDash Insert a Course Onto Any Page or Post! Things have been a bit quiet on the LearnDash update front, but it isn’t without good reason. We have been carefully planning a phased revamp of the LearnDash admin experience by analyzing the feedback we have received since first launching. Today marks Phase 1 of this process.
Navigate to LEARNDASH LMS > COURSES Click on the course you want to edit Click on the Settings tab at the top of the page Locate the section titled “Display & Content Options”
By default, no progress bar is shown. To add a progress bar to the courses in your grid: A progress bar is only shown on courses in which the user is currently enrolled, or has completed. Example showing the course progress in the LearnDash 3.0 theme. This option lets you limit the number of courses shown on the page.
There are two ways in which you can add a grid to any page on your LearnDash site: Shortcode: Best for those using page builder plugins (Elementor, Beaver Builder, Divi, etc.) or the WordPress Classic Editor Block: Only for those using the latest version of the editor in WordPress 5.0+ (aka: Gutenberg)

Your change will be applied to the Course Dashboard table, course tables, lesson tables and quiz tables. To change either or both of these colors, enable the module and use the color picker in the module settings. You can also set a new color by entering its hex value.

This page is created by the Lesson Module and can not be edited by the teacher. It is seen by the student when they finish the lesson. This is also the page where a button linking to the next activity will appear. Example End of Lesson page, student view, with link to next activity.
If you've got a lot of content, you can use topics to create even more hierarchy in your course. Some course admins might only create section headings, and add lessons to each section, but topics give you one additional level of organization. NOTE. Topics must be added to lessons.
You can customize how your courses are sorted within your grid using a combination of the orderby and order parameters. orderby tells LearnDash which piece of information you’d like to sort by, and order determines which direction the sort should occur (i.e. forwards or backwards).
It will be displayed immediately below the course title. We recommend no more than 2 sentences and somewhere around 15-25 words.
A course ribbon is a small piece of information displayed in the top-corner of each course in your grid. It’s displayed over top of all other content, and the text it displays depends on…. the specific user viewing your grid, and their enrollment status. the course access mode for that particular course.
Pagination refers to the number of course steps that are displayed at one time, before the user has to use small navigation buttons to navigate to subsequent pages to access additional course steps. By default, LearnDash will use your settings from the general settings page, but you may choose to customize this on a course-by-course basis.
Course materials are supplemental materials needed for your course. It is most common to include PDF files or other downloadable files in this area, but you can include anything you’d like (PDFs, images, downloadable audio files, links to other websites, etc.). Next to Course Materials, toggle the switch on.
Each course can have its own set of display options. In this article, we’ll cover how each display setting affects your course, and how you might want to adjust each setting to fit your particular needs.
You may want to provide a certificate to users who complete a course. There are a few things to keep in mind: You need to create a certificate first, before it will appear in this list. The certificate will become available after the user has completed all steps (lessons, topics & quizzes) associated with the course.
The course page content area is where you add a course title, description and featured image for your course. This is what people will see before they enroll (or purchase) the course.
The first two parts of the URL are not editable. They are determined by your site’s domain name and the course slug you have chosen (which will be /courses/, unless you’ve customized your LearnDash permalinks ). You can edit the third part of the URL: https://yoursite.com/courses/your-course-permalink/.
Your lesson title is the first thing you’ll see at the top of the editing screen. Look for a placeholder that says “Add Lesson title.”
When you click inside of the “Add Lesson title” box, you’ll see an area appear above, labeled “Permalink.” This is your lesson URL.
Everything below the lesson title is a blank canvas for you to add your content. This is powered by the same WordPress editor used for pages, blog posts and other content types in WordPress.
The featured image is the main image associated with your lesson. Most WordPress themes will display this image near the top of your lesson page. It’s also the image we’ll display if you’re using the course grid add-on with the [ld_lesson_list] shortcode.
