You can either download the Registration Proxy Form or pick one up at the School of Continuing Studies. You must complete and sign the Registration Proxy Form. The proxy holder must then bring the signed form along with all supporting documents to the School, as well as valid ID for themselves.
How to get a student ID card First, you must register for at least one course. Second (Optional): If you use a Preferred First Name (a preferred first name is a name by which you are commonly known, that is not your legal name) and you would like it to appear on your McGill ID card, enter it in Minerva.
NOTE: If you previously studied, have worked or are currently working at McGill and already know your McGill Password, you can continue to use it to log in.
Visiting and Special Students: Register for McGill Summer Studies through the steps outlined under Registering for Summer Studies. Once you have received your McGill Student ID number, you may register for courses online starting in March using your new Minerva student account. Minerva is McGill's online interface for students.
Alternatively, you can find your McGill Username and set your McGill Password in Minerva under “ Personal Menu ” > “ Password for McGill Username ”.
If you lose or damage your student ID card, there will be a $25 charge to replace it. Go to Service Point or Macdonald Campus (Continuing Education students should go to the School of Continuing Studies), and bring the following: Your McGill ID number (provided on your acceptance letter)
You should have received an email that includes your McGill ID number and a separate email with an initial Minerva PIN (which, for staff, is NOT your date of birth). If you do not receive your McGill ID or initial PIN, contact the IT Service Desk at 514-398-3398.

While an 85% average is a requirement, the average entering grade at McGill is over 92% making it very competitive to apply. There are also seats reserved for students from Quebec, making the admissions process highly competitive at McGill.
Your McGill Username, along with your McGill password, is used to access most online services and IT systems at McGill. Your McGill Username is based on your first and last name with the suffix @mcgill.ca (faculty & staff), @mail.mcgill.ca (students), or @affiliate.mcgill.ca (affiliates) appended to it.

Referring to McGill as the “Harvard of Canada” is fundamentally disingenuous for the simple reason that it is untrue. While a distinguished and reputable research university, McGill is simply not on par financially with private, elite American universities.
The process of requesting proof of enrollment depends on your college or university. In many cases, you can submit a request online through the school's website. But if that's not available for you, you may need to visit the registrar's office to submit your request or send it in the mail.
You need your McGill ID (9-digit number) and McGill PIN to access Minerva.
You need your McGill Username (usually in the form of firstname.lastname @ mail.mcgill.ca) and McGill Password to access most IT services, including Microsoft Office 365 Pro Plus applications (if registered for courses), One Drive, Minerva, McGill Email, Wireless Network and Virtual Private Network (VPN).
Once your McGill Password is set, you will be required to set up Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) if you want to access Microsoft Office 365 application (e.g. McGill Email) off-campus.
Minerva is McGill’s central student information system for credit courses and programs. Sign in to Minerva if you are registering for courses that provide credit towards an undergraduate certificate or a graduate certificate or diploma.
Athena is the McGill School of Continuing Studies information system for non-credit courses and activities. Non-credit courses and activities refer to those that are not part of, or transferable towards, undergraduate or graduate credit programs.
