If you have enrolled in a class or registered for an event at UC San Diego Extension in the past, an Extension account was created for you. Dropping a class to switch sections for a course is considered a drop and all drop/ add/ change deadlines apply when switching section. To drop a class, use WebReg. If you drop a class by the end of Week 4, it will not appear on your transcript. To drop a class, use WebReg.
Weeks 5 and 6. To drop a class, use WebReg. If you drop a class after the end of Week 4, it will appear on your transcript with a "W" grade.
To be eligible for a refund, students must submit a written drop request for the course prior to the published refund deadline. Refund deadlines are unique to each course and can be found in the course information at http://extension.ucsd.edu/ and in the “My Courses” section of My Extension.
You can add up to four courses maximum. If you would like to enroll in additional courses, please contact the Concurrent Enrollment Coordinator at concurrent@ucsd.edu.
Transferring UC San Diego Division of Extended Studies Credit. Many UC San Diego Division of Extended Studies courses can be transferred to UC San Diego or other colleges or universities. The transfer of credit is determined solely by the receiving institution.

UC San Diego Extension is accredited by WSCUC through the university. All courses and certificate programs offered by UC San Diego Extension have been developed and are administered in accordance with Extension policy, the regulations of the Academic Senate of the University of California and WSCUC standards."
UC San Diego is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). UC San Diego Division of Extended Studies—like all other UC San Diego schools, colleges and departments—is accredited by WASC through the University.
UC has a specific way to calculate the grade point average (GPA) it requires for admission. California applicants must earn at least a 3.0 GPA and nonresidents must earn a minimum 3.4 GPA in all A-G or college-preparatory courses to meet this requirement.
Failing & Then Re-Taking a Class Croskey notes that dropping a class is better than withdrawing, but withdrawing is better than failing. “A failing grade will lower the student's GPA, which may prevent a student from participating in a particular major that has a GPA requirement,” Croskey says.
Grades and Grade Points The work of students will be reported in terms of the following grades: A (excellent), B (good), C (fair), D (poor), F (fail), I (incomplete), IP (in progress), P (pass), NP (not pass), S (satisfactory), U (unsatisfactory).
If you withdraw from UC San Diego or drop a course, you may be eligible for a reversal of tuition & fees, depending on the: Date that you drop or withdraw from the course. Absence of other University debts. Schedule of tuition reversal.
You may not drop below 12 units if you hold an appointment at 50% time or are receiving a fellowship, traineeship, or scholarship. If you are enrolled in fewer than 12 units, then you are eligible for a 25% time appointment at the discretion of your graduate department.
Weeks 3 to 9. If you want to drop a class after the end of Week 2, you must receive approval from both your advisor/ department and the Graduate Division. If you drop a class by the end of Week 4, it will not appear on your transcript.

A student may receive a maximum of one “W” per course. Warning: Drops made after Week 2 are reviewed by the Graduate Divsion for potential impact on financial support.
