Enter the to -- from information for each course to be copied using the following format: "CS-105-02-SP2014" to "CS-105-05-SP2015" Be sure to note if you want the due dates deleted from the copy or if you want them adjusted to the new semester. If the course has changed from 16 to 8 weeks or changed from M-W-F to T-TH, also note this information.
Go to the course where you want the content to be copied to. Click the Settings link on your home page.
On the Import Content page, you will see a Content Type drop-down menu with several options for Importing Content. Select Copy a Canvas Course. This allows you to copy the content from an existing Canvas course within your account into your new course.
Enter the name of the course you want to copy from in Search for a course.
You have the option of allowing for the adjustment of the due dates associated with the course events and assignments. If you wish to do so, checking this box will present you with the options to shift dates or to remove dates. If you choose to shift the dates, click the calendar icon.
After beginning any import, the Current Jobs menu will display the status of your import. Some courses may take longer to import depending on the content.

When you import one course into another, during the import process, there is an option to modify the due dates and availability dates all at one time.
While Import Course Content brings over much of the content developed in a previous version of the course, there are a number of external applications that need to be updated to work correctly in this new copy of your course.
