To choose Alternate classes, click on the tab that says “Alternates”. As before, highlight the course you want to take and click “Add ourse” : when you add alternates they are numbered according to priority: 1, 2 and 3.
Alternate Requests can be entered by the guardian/students by clicking on Request Alternates. Guardians/Students will only see this option if you have enabled Alternates within Course Requests>Alternate in the Entity Configuration of Family/Student Access.
The order of the alternate request can be changed by using the Green Arrowsto the right of the Course. This order can be seen in Future Scheduling to determine which course is the student’s first preference as an alternate.
The action that occurs when a guardian/student requests a Co-Requisite Course is based upon the course setup in the Course Master (Student Management>Office>Future Scheduling>Build Course Master>Course Master. When you create a Co-Requisite in the Course Master, you can choose from ‘Do Not Automatically Request,’ ‘Prompt User To Request,’ or ‘Automatically Request.’
If a guardian or student requests a course where the Pre-Requisites have not been met, he/she will receive a message stating ‘The Pre-Req for this Course has not been met.’ The course being requested will not be added to the ‘Selected Courses.’
Course Requests allow guardians/students to view and/or request courses for the current or upcoming school year. The setup for Course Requests in Family/Student is a two-step process. You must create a Course Availability List and activate Course Requests in the Entity Configuration of Family/Student Access.
You can create a Course Availability List by navigating to Student Management>Office> Future Scheduling>Request Processing>Setup>Utilities.
There are four areas to configure in order to use Course Requests in Family/Student Access. You will want to make sure that you select the correct school year when modifying the areas.
