To drop a course, follow these steps:

  • Login to your myUSF dashboard.
  • Click on Banner Self-Service (Student).
  • Under the "Student" tab, click on 'Registration' and then 'Drop and Add Classes'.
  • Select the appropriate 'Term' for the class drop you intend to drop.
  • Your class schedule should appear. Next to your courses, a drop-down menu gives you the option to drop your class...

Students who wish to withdraw must submit a Voluntary Withdrawal Form, available from the Graduate School (www.grad.usf.edu). Once processed, the student's status will be changed from Graduate Degree Seeking to Non-Degree Seeking. A change to Non-Degree Seeking status could adversely impact financial aid.

Registration Information

Continuing degree-seeking students may register via OASIS on or after their registration appointment date and time for their next term’s courses. Registration occurs during the preceding term. More information is available at https://www.usf.edu/registrar/register/index.aspx.

Administrative Holds

A student may be placed on administrative hold by failure to meet obligations to the University. Students with administrative holds may not be allowed to register, receive a diploma, or receive an official transcript. Settlement of financial accounts must be made at the University Cashier’s Office.

Late Registration

All eligible students* attempting to register for the first time after active registration ends must:

Course Information

A normal enrollment for undergraduates is defined as 15 credit hours per semester. With academic advisor approval, students are allowed to take a maximum number of 18 credit hours per semester in Fall and Spring and 14 credit hours in the Summer session.

Adds

After a student has completed registration on the date assigned, the student may continue to add more courses until the fifth day of classes, otherwise known as the end of drop/add period outlined in the Office of the Registrar’s Important Dates and Deadlines.

Drops

A student may drop courses during the drop/add period. Dropped courses not to appear on the student’s transcript. No tuition or fees will be assessed for courses dropped by the fifth day of classes.

Withdrawals

A student may withdraw from courses between the second and tenth week of the semester; these weeks are different for courses in Summer session and alternative calendars. See the Office of the Registrar’s Important Dates and Deadlines.

To register for classes, students must first login to the MyUSF portal using their net id and password ( http://netid.usf.edu/una) and choose OASIS from the Resource menu. Current course offerings and registration requirements are listed in the Schedule of Classes.

Late Registration

Degree-seeking students who do not register prior to the first day of classes may register late the first week of classes. A late registration fee is charged during this week. To avoid cancellation of registration, fees and tuition are due and payable for all registered courses of record on the fifth day of classes (end of drop/add period).

Administrative Holds

Cancellation of Registration for Non-Payment

Students who do not have a tuition deferment and fail to pay by the end of add/drop week (first week of classes) will be considered overdue and will be assessed a $100 Late Payment Fee.

Academic Dismissal

Students may be academically dismissed from their graduate major for a variety of reasons. Once processed, the student’s status will be changed from Graduate Degree Seeking to Non-Degree Seeking. A change to Non-Degree Seeking status could adversely impact financial aid. Dismissal cannot be retroactive.
