Sending Transcripts to AMCAS Electronic transcripts must be transmitted through our approved vendors, National Student Clearinghouse and Parchment, or sent via secure email from approved school registrars. AMCAS will not accept transcripts via fax.
Even if the credit you earned at an institution appears on a different transcript, you still need to send the original transcript to AMCAS. This also includes coursework completed at a college while you were in high school.
After submitting, you should double check and make sure that everyone who said they are going to write a letter of recommendation for you has either sent them to AMCAS, AACOMAS, Interfolio, or any other “clearinghouse” that you may be using to store your letters.
Can I change my letter information after my application has been submitted to AMCAS? You may add a new letter after your application has been submitted, but you cannot delete or change existing letter entries.
If you repeated a course, enter all of your attempts and corresponding grades even if your school has a grade forgiveness policy. Enter your coursework in the sequence it appears on your official transcript (s). This helps to avoid inadvertent omissions. Do not list coursework twice.
Most of the information you entered in the previous year’s application will roll over if you previously submitted an application. In addition to any updates you wish to make to your application, you will want to check everything thoroughly before submitting. Advanced Placement (AP) List AP courses under the term in which the college credit was first granted . You can include the credits with freshman coursework if no term is designated. They should be listed under the institution awarding the most credit.
Repeat (R) You will need to include each completed attempt and the original grade for any course completed more than once. This is true even if your transcript does not indicate that you have repeated a course. You do not need to select Repeat for courses designed to be repeated like an independent study.
Make sure you proofread your application before you submit it. There are only a few items you can change or add post-submission. While you can always add MCAT scores, letters of evaluation, and additional medical school designations post-submission, there are limited changes you can make.
