You have to take the final no matter what - but depending on the course, you don't need to score any points on the final. StraighterLine requires proctoring on all final exams and uses an online proctoring service called ProctorU. ProctorU connects your computer and webcam to their website while the exam is being proctored. Proctoring sessions are taken in the comfort of the student's home (or preferred location) and require a webcam.
Courses are generally considered “hard” and/or “slow” to complete when they: Have assignments that must be uploaded to Straighterline. The assignment will be graded by a human, and can take 3-5 days. Textbook/eTextbook use is permitted for open book exams only. If your final proctored exam is open book, the proctor will allow you to navigate to the eTextbook in your web browser as needed during the proctoring session.
Exam Retake Policy With the exception of the first exam in your course, you cannot retake quizzes and exams or change your answers once you've submitted the entire graded exam.
If upon completion of a course a student has not achieved a satisfactory score (70% by default as per ACE), a student may retake their course by repurchasing and reattempting it in full. Students will wait a minimum of three (3) business days between attempts.
Grading Scale StraighterLine provides a percentage score and letter grade for each course. A passing percentage is 70% or higher. Each college has policies with respect to grades for transferred coursework.

If you enroll in StraighterLine for $99/month you can take as many 3-4 credit hour classes that you want. You will be automatically billed once per month but can cancel at any time. If you chose the $399 option you will have six months to complete each course.
Straighterline is actually a Transfer Credit opportunity. I strongly advise students to take 30 transfer PROFESSOR DIRECT credits here to reduce college cost. Straighterline has some partner colleges that accept most courses, but most students will want to transfer these ACE accredited courses to ACE colleges.
Degree mills offer (1) fake degrees in exchange for money (2) without requiring the student learn anything. (1) Straighterline doesn't offer degrees at all, but has articulation agreements to transfer ACE credit to their partner colleges. It's a cheap way to knock out core courses fast if you can handle the work.
I've searched the board and only found old info. What are the hairy details with this course. Is every exam proctored or just the final? Can you use notes on tests, are they open book? Can you use a calculator on tests?
I took this course from straighterline in 2011. I completed the course in 4 days with a C. If you take your time, you can easily pass this course with an A. I needed it fast to graduate, so I spent hours up each night taking the exams. The exams were not proctored when I took the course. However, now the final exam is proctored.
Final exam: Proctoring done through ProctorU. Closed book. Only scratch paper allowed, one 5 minute break is allowed, scientific or graphing calculator allowed. Source
Any suggestions on quickly knocking out the chapters without reading every single word? Can I review the summaries and then complete the quiz? Trying to push as quickly as I can because of financial reasons.

I’m currently enrolled in the calculus 1 course. I was always told that after the first exam that all graded exams/tests you can only take once, but for me it says I have three attempts per test. Is this a new rule? Thanks for the help.
