How do I add a student to a course in Canvas?

To add someone to your course site:
  1. In Canvas, navigate to your course.
  2. Click the People tab in the left hand course menu.
  3. Click the blue + People button in the top right.
  4. Enter each user's NetID into the Add user(s) by NetID box. ...
  5. Select the Role for all of the NetIDs to be added. ( ...
  6. Click the Next button.

Can you manually add a student to Canvas?

When manually adding users to a course, you can add a user into any available role, including custom roles as created by your admin. If you are not sure about what permissions are allowed for a specific role in your institution, please contact your Canvas admin.

Creating a new section and setting date parameters

When you create a new section for students, you may need to set custom start and end dates.

PeopleSoft Teachers

Once you have created a new section you need to associate student (s) with that section,

Non-PeopleSoft Teachers

Once you have created a new section you can enroll or remove users using People in the course navigation.
