Withdrawal usually means the course remains on the transcript with a “W” as a grade. It does not affect the student's GPA (grade point average). Although students may be reluctant to have a “W” on their transcript, sometimes “W” stands for Wisdom.

Withdrawing will only look bad for medical school if there is a suspicious pattern, such as repeatedly withdrawing and then taking the classes at community college instead. Otherwise, having a few withdrawals does not look bad.

Courses numbered 500 and above are graduate courses, ordinarily open only to graduate students. Undergraduate students who are within eight credits of graduation may register for up to two graduate-level courses and receive graduate credit, provided the graduate courses are not used to meet any undergraduate degree requirements. Such graduate hours will appear as graduate courses on the undergraduate transcript, but are not used in the calculation of the undergraduate GPA and do not count toward full-time status for financial aid purposes (which may affect eligibility for certain types of financial aid).
Thus, for master's programs requiring a minimum of 30 credit hours, no more than six transfer credits may be applied toward the degree. When master's programs require more than 30 credit hours, the Dean of the Graduate School may accept a larger number of transfer credits.
A minimum of 18 normally graded credits (residence hours) must be completed at the graduate level after the bachelor’s degree is awarded. Programs have the discretion to limit the number of credits that can be counted toward both degrees.
Determination of Academic Standing. A cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.0 is required for a graduate degree. To maintain satisfactory academic progress, students are required to earn a minimum grade-point average of 3.0 in all courses that the Graduate School counts toward a degree.
The families correspond to the courses that can be registered together. For example, a particular lecture may have only certain activities that can be registered with it. Those activities would be identified as part of the course family.
Credit hours ONLY appear on the credit-bearing part of a course. It is not unusual for elements of a course to have 0 (zero) credits displaying on the schedule of classes. Looking at the CHEM 101 example above, the lecture will earn 4 credit hours while the related activity will have a 0 (zero) credit value.
If you drop a course before the week 3 Final Study List deadline, it disappears cleanly from your transcript as though you had never been enrolled. However, after week 3 you no longer have the option to drop a course cleanly from your record.
Though many students worry about Ws on their transcript, in truth a W gives away very little information. It merely reflects that sometime between the third and eighth week of the quarter you decided not to continue with the class. A W is not a “black mark,” and it says nothing about your performance in the class up to that point.

If you applied to ANY other gateway at mac (socsci, humanities, enviro, math/stats, chem/phys), then you can still do life sci, regardless of if you got into the program. Hey everyone, long story short, my roommate was having multiple people over (people who I did not know), hanging out with a lot of people outside (no masks), leaving a mess, and being very loud late at night. I posted in this subreddit several days ago asking for help, and I was told to confront them and have a talk. Here is the update.
A professor had said the midterm was 2 hours. This was told by all the students for weeks. The midterm comes, and there is no countdown for when submission is required, thus meaning the midterm has unlimited time. A student had followed academic integrity and submitted at 2 hours; however, many other students submitted at 2.5 up to 4 hours.
While kids got in with 89's. There's no supp app. Totally unfair since it's only based on grades. I emailed them and they said no reappeal. Is there anything I can do at this point?
