2 Direct Democracy Direct democracy or pure democracy is a form of government in which citizens have the overall power to govern themselves. In these kinds of government, the citizens hold referendums, pass laws which they term best suited for them. This is a different case in representative democracy which is the commonly used form of government in many countries.
