If there are no gold stars then Canvas will display all courses listed within above the Past Enrollments section. Following the steps above in Add Classes for your current courses will result in the unwanted class not appearing in your Dashboard. Unfortunately, we don’t delete courses from Canvas.
The Canvas dashboard is dynamic with the term dates. Your course will appear based on your status for the course. Below are those conditions. However, errors do occur which may prevent a course from automatically appearing on your dashboard. Please note that removing a course from your dashboard does not drop you out of the course.
However, if you are a student in the course, it will need to say yes under the Published column [Purple box]. In addition, Canvas includes tools tips to describe certain thing on the screen. Hovering your mouse over the stars will tell you why you can or cannot star a course.
Unfortunately, we don’t delete courses from Canvas. We recommend unpublishing the course or simply following the directions above to remove it from your Dashboard.
To publish a Canvas course site: Go to the course Home Page. Under Course Status, click Publish. Publishing your course gives your students immediate access to the course site.
When a course's events and assignments are hidden the color display in gray. Click again to display the events again. Each student also has a personal calendar as well. The colors associated with a course can be changed by clicking the three dots next to the course title.
After you have added the course to one of the two worksheets, your enrollment will be processed in up to 2 hours. Check back after 2 hours to ensure that the course is listed on your Dashboard page.

If you can't see one of your courses on your Canvas calendar, the course may be hidden. Under the "Calendars" section in the sidebar on the right of your Canvas calendar page, hidden courses will appear greyed out. For example, in the above "Calendars" list, the course "ELA 10 S2" is hidden.

Future Enrollments are courses that will be made available as part of an upcoming term or specific course start date. Future courses may be published or unpublished.
Some "access denied" messages are the result of a so-called "stale login." (That is, your Kaltura and/or Canvas credentials have expired behind the scenes.) Log out of Canvas, log back in, and try to access the video-related page(s) again.
Click Settings at the bottom of the menu. Click Navigation along the top. Drag items between the upper and lower lists to hide (disable) or make them visible (enable) to students. IMPORTANT: Click Save.
It can typically tell if a student minimizes it because it loses "focus" and will likely show up in the log that they "stopped viewing the quiz.....", but Canvas can't tell anything else about the computer itself or other programs running on it.
