History must tell the whole story. For girls, knowing women's achievements expands their sense of what is possible. For all of us, knowledge of women's strengths and contributions builds respect and nourishes self esteem — crucial to all children and adults now, and in the years to come.
Throughout history, women have been healers and caretakers, playing multiple roles as pharmacists, nurses, midwives, abortionists, counselors, physicians, and 'wise women,' as well as witches. As early as 4000 BC, there were women who studied, taught, and practiced medicine.
Third, history is incomplete. There are many truths lost in time because they were not written down, or lost to the changing nature of oral traditions, or lost to the selective process of interpretation by historians.
Historically, the teaching profession became an acceptable career path for women starting in the mid-1800's, when women seeking employment was more of a rarity. Before public school system were put into place, women were expected to teach children basic athematic, language arts, history, and life science.
Recognizing the achievements of women in all facets of life – science, community, government, literature, art, sports, medicine – has a huge impact on the development of self-respect and new opportunities for girls and young women.
To paraphrase the historian Suzanne Lebsock, women's history would make us smarter. By illuminating the lives of women, we would enable the historical profession to see more deeply into the psychic and social arrangements that undergirded political decision making and economic and cultural organization.

The answer is that History is inescapable. It studies the past and the legacies of the past in the present. Far from being a 'dead' subject, it connects things through time and encourages its students to take a long view of such connections. All people and peoples are living histories.
Limitations. Sources may not be reliable and may represent misleading facts about the events. Not all past events can be studied because of the lack of evidence and source materials. It gets more challenging to have research if the events are from a more distant past.
History is a Waste of Time Most people memorise dates, names and facts when they study history. This information is not useful in everyday life or for the future. If we could actually learn from history, history wouldn't be full of the same repeated mistakes.
