Feb 02, 2009 · Jesus Christ is God: Deity is the only explanation for all that He was and all that He did. (1) He was pre-existent with the Father. “The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not anything made that was made” (John 1:2, 3, KJV). (Also see John 17:5 and Colossians 1:17.) (2) He is the Son of God.

Because God created him before everything and everyone else. So Jesus is called “the firstborn of all creation.”. * ( Colossians 1:15) Jesus is also precious to Jehovah because he is the only one Jehovah created directly. That is why he is called the “only-begotten Son.”.
The Bible tells us what happened: “After being baptized, Jesus immediately came up from the water; and look! the heavens were opened up, and he saw God’s spirit descending like a dove and coming upon him. Look! Also, a voice from the heavens said: ‘This is my Son, the beloved, whom I have approved.’”.
Jehovah miraculously transferred his Son’s life from heaven to the womb of a virgin named Mary. In this way, Jesus did not need to have a human father. So Mary gave birth to a perfect son, and she called him Jesus. — Luke 1:30-35.
( Colossians 1:16) And only Jesus is called “the Word,” because Jehovah used him to give messages and instructions to angels and humans. — John 1:14.
( Matthew 3:16, 17) When John saw and heard this sign, he knew that Jesus was the Messiah. ( John 1:32-34) On that day, when Jehovah poured out his spirit on him, Jesus became the Messiah.
Jesus has been acclaimed as the greatest religious leader who ever lived, as being the most influential person to have lived on our planet, and as being unique to the degree that no one can be compared to Him.
Man is the object of God’s wrath because of rebellion and sin, but God took the initiative in satisfying His wrath by sending His own Son to Calvary. (c) It is a reconciliation. The enmity between us and God has ended ( Romans 5:10 ), and we are restored to God ( 2 Corinthians 5:18, 19 ).
Peter confessed: “And we believe and are sure that thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God” ( John 6:69, KJV). Jesus affirmed: “I and my Father are one” ( John 10:30, NIV). (3) He was sinless, as only God can be.
Peter wrote: “Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed” ( 1 Peter 2:24, KJV). (5) He performed miraculous works.
He is a personal Savior. “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness: and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation” ( Romans 10:9, 10, KJV).
Resurrection: Luke 24:39, Mark 8:31, Acts 17:32. Jesus is the key to membership in God’s family. When He established His deity by rising from the grave, He made it possible for us to have forgiveness from sin and a renewed relationship with God.
Jesus Was 100% God. Who is Jesus, and how was it possible that Christ’s human body held the whole deity and glory of God? According to John 1:1-3, Jesus existed from the beginning. From the beginning, Jesus was with God, and Jesus was God.
Matthew 5:13-16 will close our study of The Beatitudes.The Beatitudes have shown us who and what a true citizen of the Kingdom is. Now we must discover the function of the Christian and the Kingdom in this world. To help us understand this, Jesus uses the metaphors of salt and light.
The first of eight beatitudes describes the beginning point of growth as a citizen of the Kingdom. It is being “poor in spirit.” This phrase can be understood by thinking of actual poverty, the state of being poor, as it is described in the Bible. In the Bible, the poor are those who have to utterly depend on others because they lack the personal resources or abilities to live in a state of wellbeing. Likewise, Christians who are “poor in spirit” have recognized that they are totally dependent on God for their own wellbeing. They have recognized the sin and corruption of their hearts, and know that they do not have the resources or abilities to please God on their own. They know that they need the help of the King—Jesus Christ.
The Beatitudes move in an order that describes the process of spiritual growth by which we can evaluate our spiritual condition as citizens in God’s Kingdom. When Christians begin with poverty in spirit, they start to mourn over their sin and the sin of the world as it is lived out before the face of a holy God. This then leads to meekness. Meekness is the quality of having a submissive, gentle, and patient attitude even though we may have great strength and power.
The beatitude “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled” refers to the desire to be free from all sin in all forms; it involves a sincere desire to be holy. Righteousness is being right with God.
When the Bible speaks about the heart of a person, it is referring to the inner, hidden part of us—who and what we really are down deep inside. The heart is our inner person, the part of us from which flow our thoughts, desires, intentions, beliefs, and purposes. The heart is the center of the human being, the fountain from which all things flow. God, therefore, is uniquely concerned with our heart. God searches our hearts. He is searching for pure hearts.
How can this be: Blessedness from mourning? Yet, that is exactly what this beat-itude declares. The “mourning” in this beatitude refers to the mourning that occurs when we stand in poverty of spirit before a holy God. Citizens of the Kingdom of God constantly recognize their unholiness and sin before their Holy King, and sorrowfully mourn over it. They cry out to the Holy One for grace, mercy, and freedom from sin and its consequences. Not only do citizens of the Kingdom of God mourn over their own sins, but they mourn for all the sin around them. They recognize that all sin and unholiness is a stench in God’s nostrils.
Along with devoting themselves to the apostles’ teaching, the believers were devoted to fellowship. Biblical fellowship is not just coffee and donuts in Sunday school, or a meal in the fellowship hall. Fellowship is the sharing of our lives with other believers. You’ll never grow to full maturity in Jesus Christ all by yourself. You cannot become a disciple of Jesus Christ independently of others.
That was all part of this concept of discipleship. The New Testament picked up this concept and put it in a spiritual context so we would know what it means to be a disciple of Jesus Christ. Discipleship involves an apprenticeship in which the ap - prentice, or student, is brought toward a particular goal .
It was a well-established concept in the Greek world in the centuries before Christ. The word disciple means “learner, student, ” and the Greeks had disciples in the realm of philosophy.
Usually, whatever a person considers to be most important is on his mind when he comes to his last days on earth. That’s why we pay so much attention to last words, especially of people important to us.
