The Utah Hunter Education Program helps you learn essential safety skills and develop practical techniques useful for hunting. All courses offered by the Utah Hunter Education Program are nationally recognized. Completion of a basic hunter education course is required to obtain a hunting license in Utah if you were born after Dec. 31, 1965.
Our hunter safety courses are available for all ages, however, we ask that students 12 years of age and younger are accompanied by a parent or guardian. For students over the age of 18, we require you to pass a background check before you can take part in our hunter education course.

A Texas Hunting License is required for anyone who hunts game within the state. Licenses can be obtained online through the TPWD website, or through a number of vendors throughout the state. Fees for the Texas Hunting License vary depending on residency, age and the type of hunting activity.
Certification is not required to purchase a hunting license. Minimum age of certification is 9 years. In-person course cost is $15. Persons 17 years of age and older have the option of taking the course in person or on- line.

Types of Hunter Education Courses. Both of these classes, taught primarily by volunteers, cover the same material 1) Hunter Responsibility and Ethics, 2) Wildlife Conservation and Management, 3) Firearms and Firearm Safety, 4) Game and Fish Statutes and Regulations, 5) Game Care and Wildlife Identification, and 6) Outdoor Safety.
Classes are primarily available January - September, with the most classes available in March and April. Classes are rarely available October - December.

A. Wyoming hunter education classes are NOT recommended for individuals that are interested in applying for a CCW permit. Hunter Education classes do not cover any CCW issues such as, state and national concealed carry laws, pistol safety, handling and proficiency or concealed carry responsibility and sheepdog mentality. Please seek information for CCW classes through your local shooting or sportsman club.
Body. Hunter education has reduced hunting accidents and deaths by more than 70 percent since it became mandatory in 1987. For this reason, we recommend all hunters become hunter-education certified. Our Hunter Education Program provides a foundation in hunting safety and ethics.
If you plan to hunt during a Missouri firearms season or you are acting as an adult mentor, you MUST first complete an approved hunter-education certification program and provide proof of completion UNLESS: You are 15 or younger and will be hunting with a properly permitted adult mentor 18 or older .
By state law, all first-time hunters (18 years of age or older) must successfully complete a Basic Hunter Education course before they may purchase a Massachusetts hunting or sporting license. Government issued “certificates of completion” from any jurisdiction are accepted.
