The original Rainbow Road is characterized by hairpin corners, splits in the narrow track and the absence of crash barriers. This makes this course hard for all characters, although powersliding skills are of a great help on this track.
The Special CupThe Special Cup is the hardest cup in the game. It contains the following tracks: Dry Dry Ruins, Moonview Highway, Bowser's Castle, and Rainbow Road. The Special Cup can be unlocked by beating the Star Cup in Grand Prix mode on any CC.
Koopa Cape is a track in Mario Kart Wii and a retro track in Mario Kart 7. It is the second track of the Star Cup in Mario Kart Wii, and in Mario Kart 7 it is the first track in the Lightning Cup .
In Mario Kart 7, the ramp that leads to the river is now a gliding ramp. Also the tunnel's top half has been removed; flooding it with water, making it an underwater section. The Koopa Zappers are removed and now Cheep Cheeps swim toward the racers; acting as an equivalent obstacle.
The track seems to take place on Shell Island from the advertisements found on the island. At the start of the course, there is a Boost Pad that will launch the racers to a cliff area; where they will need to avoid Goombas that are walking around. There is a sharp turn after that will take the racer to a river that rushes forward.
It would return as a retro course in Mario Kart 7. It would remain the same for the most part except there is a wall added to the right of the starting line, the Goombas are now a Grand Goombas, a blue ramp replaces the ramp that leads to the flowing river that allows the player to glide, and the glass tunnel takes place under water.
Koopa Cape takes you along a cliff side and down a river, with the water’s current actually adding to your speed; if they had let us play Koopa Cape in physics class, maybe I would’ve understood things a little better. After diving down a waterfall, racers drive through an underwater tube before being spat out near the finish line.
Mario Kart Wii may have come out nearly ten years ago in 2008 (this sentence has already made me feel old), but it is still my favorite version of Mario Kart, which originally launched in 1992 (and now I’m ancient) for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES). Since Mario Kart Wii’s arrival on the scene, Nintendo has subsequently released ...

Who knows, maybe Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, which comes out for the Nintendo Switch, on April 28, 2017 , will fling a blue shell right at Mario Kart Wii and earn its rightful spot at the top of my list?
