EXSP 1010 is a lecture-only course. We do not offer an associated lab component for this course.

The Exercise Physiology Lab is dedicated to the study and improvement of human health and performance. Specifically, our focus is on human performance in extreme environments such as hot, cold, and altitude. We use a translational research strategy by incorporating basic science techniques into our applied and practical approaches.

Research

We currently conduct both field based and laboratory based research on the effects of acute exposure to altitude/hypoxia and optimal strategies to acclimate to this environment. Our work ranges from whole body physiology to skeletal muscle molecular responses.
