What are reserves in a library?

The Reserve Collection is a special area of the library where faculty can place high demand items – typically required course readings – to ensure those items are highly accessible to students. Reserve items usually have a check out time of 2 hours and do not leave the library building.

What was the library in 1924 called?

Then known as the Antonio Library, circulation for the year was 4,936. In 1924, the library moved again, once more occupying a private home. Mrs. Burke was the librarian, a position she was to hold from 1914 through 1936. Patron usage was highest in the areas of gardening, poultry, and scientific subjects.

Does Cudahy Library have friends?

Cudahy Library does not have a friends of the library group. Library History. Library service in Cudahy dates back to 1913. At that time, the library operated out of a private home. In 1914, the library moved to a room in a school and was open for an hour on Wednesdays and for three hours on Saturdays.

Group Study Rooms

Four- and six-person study rooms are available on the second and third floors of Cudahy Library. These spaces have tables, chairs, and whiteboards for students to use. Rooms must be reserved before using the space. To check out dry erase markers, please go to the circulation desk on the first floor.

Graduate Study Lounges (3rd Floor)

Graduate students can borrow a Study Lounge key at the Circulation Desk. The key will open either of the lounge areas on the 3rd floor.

Graduate Study Carrels

Study carrels are available to PhD candidates who are either 1) doing dissertation research, or 2) studying for comprehensive exams. Carrels assignments are on a first-come, first-served basis, and there is often a wait list. Please contact David Schmidt with questions about availability.

Cudahy Theater (Room 318)

The Cudahy Theater is a campus classroom, and you must reserve it through Campus Reservations. If you are reserving the Theater within 25Live, please search for “CL 318.”
