I think it’s important to remember, and both sad to bring up, that other artist are not auto allies. I see a lot of artist get discourage by the opinion of artists, more than non artists.

That works great for me. Just squares and circles, hearts and stars, no kidding, lol. then i can sneak past the art block by shading and complexifying the simple shapes.

Stuck in between wanting to draw for myself but also wanting to improve my overall skills

Ive narrowed down what I want to improve in my art the most which is people. Stylized or realistic, doesnt matter. And Ive gotten more comfortable with drawing in my sketchbook again after having the fear of messing it up. But I get distraught on how I spend my time doing art.
