A linear function is any function that graphs to a straight line. What this means mathematically is that the function has either one or two variables with no exponents or powers. If the function has more variables, the variables must be constants or known variables for the function to remain a linear function. Are you a student or a teacher?
- Definition & Examples lesson quiz, allow students to complete in pairs and review. Pair students, then give each pair a sheet of the butcher paper, markers and the linear function worksheet. Assign each pair three to four problems from the worksheet.
– Understand the use of linear algebra for sports ranking, web search applications, image compressions, and much more – Cover multiple topics during the courses, such as matrix algebra, linear graphing equations, numerical linear algebra, and many more
A worksheet with 30 - 40 linear function problems, enough so that each pair of students can be assigned three to four problems Begin by asking students if they have heard of a linear function. If so, allow students to explain their understanding.
