Under "Grade Forgiveness" an adjustment is made to the GPA calculation to remove the effect of the initial grade and include only the repeated grade. Both grades remain listed on the academic record. "Grade Forgiveness" units on the student's entire CSUF academic record count against the 16-unit limit.
Undergraduate students are now limited to a maximum of 12 units of repeated coursework with Grades Averaged, from Fall 2009 forward.
The IC replaces the I and is counted as a failing grade for grade point average and grade point computation. Withdrawal (W) The symbol “W” indicates that the student was permitted to withdraw from the course after the second (day/week) of instruction with the approval of the instructor and appropriate campus officials.
Students may repeat a total of 28 units maximum (16 units of Grade Forgiveness and 12 units of Grade Averaging) for courses where a grade of “C-“ or below was earned. A single course may be repeated twice, for a total of 3 attempts maximum.
An additional 12 semester units of coursework may be repeated for grade averaging, i.e. both the original grade and the repeat(s) will be calculated into the student's total GPA. Students cannot improve grades of courses taken at CSUN by repeating them at another institution.
C (Satisfactory): Performance of the student has been at an adequate level, meeting the basic objectives of the course. D (Passing): Performance of the student has been less than adequate, meeting only the minimum course requirements.
3.68Average GPA: 3.68 The average GPA at Cal State Fullerton is 3.68. This makes Cal State Fullerton Strongly Competitive for GPAs. (Most schools use a weighted GPA out of 4.0, though some report an unweighted GPA. With a GPA of 3.68, Cal State Fullerton requires you to be above average in your high school class.
If you plan to leave CSUF without completing your academic program and do not plan to return, please fill out the Exit Form and select “I will not complete my degree program and will leave the U.S.” You will also need to attach your flight itinerary as proof of departure from the U.S.
None IncompleteNone. Incomplete (I) - The symbol E was once used for incomplete work and was not included in GPA calculations. Effective September 2002, if not completed by the end of the second semester following the term in which assigned, the incomplete is changed to an IC (or NC) for grade point computation.
When Grade Forgiveness is applied to a student's record, the grade earned during the first attempt of the course is no longer factored in to the student's GPA but it will still appear on the student's transcript. In other words, the new grade replaces the old grade in the calculation of a student's GPA.
Grade Points The letter grade A, including A+ and A-, denotes distinguished mastery of the course material. The letter grade B, including B+ and B-, denotes good mastery of the course material. The letter grade C, including C+ and C-, denotes acceptable mastery of the course material.
A grade of C or better is required to earn a Passed; a C- or below will earn a Not Passed grade. A grade of C- may satisfy many requirements (e.g., General Education, elective) but a Not Passed grade will not earn any credit or satisfy requirements.

Do you remember the last accident or near accident you experienced while driving? If you avoided the accident, do you remember how you avoided it?
Defensive driving and driver’s education are not the same. Drivers education may include defensive driving skills but its focus is on teaching an individual how to drive, read traffic signs, and be aware of driving laws.
The main benefit of a defensive driving course is you become a better and safer driver. Other benefits include a reduction of points on your driver’s license after a ticket or accident. Some car insurance companies will reduce your insurance rates by as much as 10% after you take a defensive driving course.
Learning and following defensive driving skills is the best way you can avoid accidents and stay safe on the roadway. Not only will defensive driving benefit you but it will keep others on the road safe, too!
