These accounts are typically used to access course Web sites (a.k.a. Course Accounts) or for other academic or administrative projects. The user name for this type of account is not your IT Account NetID. Your NetID is the user name associated with your primary UMass Amherst Account.

The primary user name for your IT Account, your NetID (IT Account user name) gives you access to various technology services on campus, including email, SPIRE, and the campus network. The NetID is an ID based on your first and/or last name.
If you are not logged in to SPIRE, go to the SPIRE Logon page. Under the heading Catalogs & Schedules (upper right corner of the page), click Search Classes/Catalog. The Search for Classes Enter Search Criteria page opens. It defaults to showing the most recent term with an available Schedule.
To request a UWW enrollment appointment, in the SPIRE Menu, go to Enrollment > Summer/Wtr/Non-deg Enroll Appt. Review pertinent information before pressing the “Request UWW Enrollment Appointment” button at the bottom of the page.
In the SPIRE Menu, go to Enrollment > Add Classes. Alternately, on your Student Center SPIRE Home page, select Enrollment: Add Classes from the other academic... drop-down list or click one of the enrollment links to the left of or below your class schedule.
The Catalog Number is the number that is associated to the class that you want to search for. For example, if you search for Accounting, the Catalog Number will begin with 10101.

Students can take college classes without enrolling. It is called audit class. You can attend this type of class without getting any type of benefits such as credit, grade, certificate, attendance, etc. However, you still need to pay for the courses.
Our office assists UMass undergraduates with enrollment in courses at Amherst, Hampshire, Mount Holyoke, and Smith Colleges. Registration for a Five College course is easy, but it is different than registering for a UMass course. Each semester there are TWO registration periods for Five College classes.

Regardless of whether your enrollment appointment is open, you can search for classes and add them to your shopping cart. This action does not save you a seat in those classes. This action simply allows you to save specific classes in the shopping cart until your enrollment appointment becomes active.

The UCard is the official UMass Amherst campus student ID card. The main difference between the two cards is that the UCard is designed to be a stand-alone ID card, and includes an official photo taken at the UCard Office.
Cards typically arrive within a few weeks, but it sometimes takes as much as 4-6 weeks to reach mailing addresses outside the United States.
