What is class search?

Class search allows you to find and view courses by term, subject, date, time, format, title, and location.

Can you teach a class if enrollment is too small?

It is not always feasible or educationally sound to teach certain courses if class enrollments are either too small or too large. Because of this, TCC reserves the right to adjust class schedules, including class cancellation, when enrollment or other circumstances require this.

What is the grade point average for TCC?

Students with high school grade-point-averages of less than 2.50 are admitted, but may be advised to enroll in a college success course their first quarter in the program.

Why is it important to monitor running start classes?

If they perform poorly, they may jeopardize future college plans. Running Start classes place an increased demand on students, so it is important to monitor their class loads. Running Start students should be enrolled full-time between the high school and college, but should not over-enroll or take too few classes.

Does TCC offer college credit?

Students in the TCC in the High School program earn college credit at their participating high school, not at TCC. Tuition is reduced. Like Running Start, most courses are transferable and launch an early start to college goals. Read more about TCC in the High School.

State Authorization

What does "add a course" mean?

Adding a course means enrolling in a new course during the published add/drop period. Students may need special permission from a professor and academic dean to add a course after the first class meeting.

How to get permission for a course?

How many classes can I take?

The full-time course load is 12 to 18 credit hours. As a rule, one credit hour of course work requires at least two hours of study outside of class each week. You should consult with an Enrollment Services counselor or advisor to plan an academic load that is compatible with your work schedule and other responsibilities. Students who wish to take more than 18 credit hours must obtain the approval of the campus provost or designee.

Is audited course counted as academic load?

Audited courses are not counted as part of your academic load when your enrollment status is reported to the Financial Aid office, Department of Veterans Affairs or another third party.
