After you have enrolled in a course, the course is posted on your edX dashboard. The course start date is located below the course title. Until this start date has passed, there won't be a View Course button available.
Yes! You may re-take a future session of an edX course. Each offering of a course is assessed independently and most edX courses do repeat. It is not possible to start fresh in a course session you have already begun.
If it is early in the course, you might still be able to complete enough assignments and exams to earn a certificate. For detailed information on how to find any due dates in your course, please read this article: Does my course have due dates?
Many of our self-paced courses can be joined months after the start date. For our instructor-paced courses, you may join late but you will not be able to turn in any assignments or exams that are past due. If it is early in the course, you might still be able to complete enough assignments and exams to earn a certificate.

If you search for a course in the course catalog then click the course thumbnail, you will view the course introduction page.
If you have missed a suggested due date, you can find the Shift due dates button on the course homepage or on the Dates tab. It is not possible to shift a suggested due date before it has passed. You will only see the Shift due dates button if you have missed a suggested due date, not before.

To earn a certificate you will have to upgrade to the verified track by the course upgrade deadline, and reach a passing score before the course end date. It is not possible to earn a certificate in a course that has ended.
You can work at your own pace up until the final, fixed end date of the course. All edX courses have end dates, but self-paced courses remain open for a long time to allow flexibility. On a browser, you can view the end date on the course homepage under Important Dates labelled Course ends or under the Dates tab.
edX certifications are well worth the money. Although most edX courses are free, receiving a certificate demonstrates to companies and educational institutions that you are serious about your job or education.
Every course on edX.org, including those which are "self-paced" will have an end date. To earn a certificate on the verified track you will need to have a passing score by the end date.
With unlimited access and downloadable video files, edX courses are worth it if compared to the cost of attending it in person at the campus of a top school which starts at $70,000. If access to hundreds of quality courses from notable institutions at a low price is good enough, then edX is definitely worth it.
Employers will recognize skills gained from this online learning platform when you earn EdX certificates. The verified track grants students access to additional quizzes and graded assignments. EdX offers financial assistance to students who want to earn a certificate but can't afford it.
Courses on both platforms are vetted by industry experts and are frequently updated and reviewed for quality. However, edX marginally edges out Coursera in terms of quality. When sampling a wide range of courses on both platforms, you'll find edX courses to be better designed to impact value.
If your access to the audit track has expired and the course is still open for verified enrollment, you may Upgrade to Verified from your edX Dashboard to regain access. If the upgrade option no longer appears or if you prefer not to upgrade, you may instead enroll again in a future session.
If you find an assignment you have not completed is Past Due, or there is a message that you have missed a suggested deadline, you can shift your due dates. You can shift your due dates using the Shift due dates button available on the course homepage or on the Dates tab.
Yes! You may take multiple edX courses. We recommend checking the requirements on each course description page to balance your available study hours and the demands of the intended courses.
