First-time and transfer students entering UNG who have earned 30 hours but have not completed Area A must enroll in the next course necessary to make progress toward completing this area in every semester in which they take classes.
What if I cannot complete 30 transferable semester hours until after the application deadline? Students who have not completed 30 or more transferable hours following their graduation from high school are ineligible for transfer admission.
Additionally, some colleges and departments have limits on the number of students in their programs, so an applicant’s intended major might be a factor in the admission decision. When reviewing a file, the best indication of academic success at UGA is a student’s calculated transfer GPA along with the number of classes completed.
Please note that certain courses may appear in multiple areas in the core curriculum, but students must not be applied to more than one area (with the exception of mathematics courses that may be split between areas A and F and areas D and F). Equivalent Honors courses may be substituted (e.g., ENGL 1101H for ENGL 1101).

Students may only attempt a course three times at UNG regardless of whether a “W” or a grade was assigned to the course (except for ESL courses).

Students who request to withdraw from a course before the semester's withdrawal deadline will receive a grade of W, which does not have any impact on a student's GPA. Withdrawal requests submitted after the withdrawal deadline will result in a WF (withdrawal fail), which will negatively impact a student's GPA.

How much does a withdrawal affect your GPA? A withdrawal doesn't affect the GPA.
Withdrawal usually means the course remains on the transcript with a “W” as a grade. It does not affect the student's GPA (grade point average). Although students may be reluctant to have a “W” on their transcript, sometimes “W” stands for Wisdom.
