They far beat other state schools rushing to get their online programs going that are new to the space. SNHU uses Brightspace, a very user-friendly software! The courses vary in difficulty, just as they would at any other university. You've got students that put in varying amounts of effort, and it probably translates in the gradebook.
My advice to new students is to always make sure you document all correspondence with SNHU. Try to do most of it through e-mail, as to keep a record. In actuality, SNHU is not a whole lot more different than any other college except in the way they approach education, which still manages to draw attention. Innovation combined with the market should always draw questions, however, SNHU does try to ensure transparency and a strict ethical standard to ensure they do not do wrong by their students.

Students may withdraw from courses at any time during the second through fourth week of the undergraduate term or the second through sixth week of the graduate term with the course grade of "W".

You will have weekly deadlines in your courses (typically Sunday night by 11:59 p.m. for all assignments aside from discussions which are due by Thursday at 11:59 p.m.) and some of the assignments require research and extensive amounts of reading, so you have to schedule time throughout the week to work on them.
I have found every one of the SNHU online professors to be knowledgeable and experienced in the field they are teaching. You will notice that several of the professors hold the highest degrees in their field and have numerous years of experience.
The SNHU admissions process varies for each program, but one consistent factor is that the GRE is not involved for admission to master’s degree programs. I have never been a big fan of standardized tests being used as admissions criteria anyway, so I was happy to see that this wasn’t a requirement. If you are pursuing a bachelor’s degree, you will be required to submit proof of graduating high school or possessing a GED.
SNHU is an accredited university and it also has some specific accreditations for certain programs. Accreditation is an important factor to look at when choosing a school to go to! As I said before, SNHU online is a branch of the physical campus so the online degrees are held up to the same standards as those offered on-campus.
School is a commitment and online programs are going to require a lot of discipline and time management on your part. Thankfully, you are going to be in classes where there are people who are trying to juggle a million things at once like you are.

That being said, online courses are not for everyone. It can be very time consuming, and some concepts may not come as easily without the in class instruction. However, I was provided with everything that I needed to succeed. And, most of the professors were very helpful and understanding.
SNHU claims to be non-profit, and technically it may be, but the COCE is run just like UoP and garbage for-profits. Grades are given away. No work is expected. The level of instruction is pitiful. The academic standards keep going down and down and down because all SNHU cares about is keeping butts in seats so the financial aid will keep flowing.
SNHU is of a joke. They masquerade around as a brick and mortar with a good reputation, but when in actuality, they are EXACTLY like University of Phoenix, Kaplan, and (insert for-profit name here). The instructors are all adjuncts, and with the exception of a SMALL handful, they know nothing about the subject they are teaching, so do not expect any guidance if you do not understand the material. I was made to feel like a part-time, insignificant obligation by almost all of my instructors, was graded incorrectly by many, and received no guidance. Fortunately the online learning systems used are manageable- myitlab/mymathlab, so are you are able to learn if you REALLY put your best foot forward. I was fortunate enough to transfer my credits to a good school and pursue a degree that will actually mean something. Look elsewhere for a meaningful degree.
Simply put, SNHU is a legit University. With that said, there are things SNHU can improve upon, but they are still a better University than most. Finally, while SNHU does have an online an department, they are *not* an online school like Phoenix or DeVry. SNHU is a traditional University.
Transferring to another school. SNHU online has competitive tuition, that's it. Save a few $$ to buy a diploma that's already considered a joke? No thank you. Some of the teachers don't know their stuff or can't teach. Others don't care. Advisors are a mixed bag, financial aid run by children. Expensive advertisements try to save the day. Dishonest people.
SNHU is all about what you put into it. If you put in the bare minimum, your knowledge will be the bare minimum. For those thinking about going to SNHU, just remember is about how much you want to learn. If you want to know to learn a lot, it's there for you.

The SNHU's online program has no Dean of Admissions; the only person of authority that you can reach is a "team leader". The interaction with the admissions department is more like a car dealership than any college or university of quality.
One, SNHU have a bad reputation because of the accreditation that are strictly regional, not national accreditation. For SNHU to be recognized as a national accreditation, SNHU must be more intensive (think of UNC or University of Miami (FL) as an example) in their own courses, such as marathon final examinations, excessive essay writings, intensive researches, even creating theories based on real life scenarios. To get national accreditation, SNHU must also focus on the geographical locations and have to be forced to offer more in-person courses in order to reduce the chance of cheating and phishing (a form of scamming the university through coursework). Professors must be nationally recognized from the board of their own profession, such as Architecture which requires certification from intensive written examination with a passing score of at least 90% and sit in front of the panel defending your work. SNHU’s professors are not certified nationally.
They were short in shutting SNHU down because of illegal practices in withholding financial aid. They have changed that in 2017 and are no longer withholding financial aid for your money out of pocket. Also, federal government, such as Department of Justice, has kept investigating SNHU for low tuition prices and it is still ongoing, meaning they might not be able to bring forward a legal charges against the university for a long time. SNHU is always under investigation, no matter what year you are enrolled into SNHU.
