A Master Gardener Basic Training class will begin in October 2020. Armstrong County adult residents are welcome to apply. Master Gardeners are volunteers for Penn State Extension who share knowledge of best practices in home gardening and environmental stewardship with their community.
Master Gardeners are taught best practices from Penn State Extension during their Basic Training classes and will use this knowledge to teach the community about growing vegetables, keeping your landscape healthy, growing indoor plants, safe choices for dealing with pests and diseases, and conservation of pollinator resources.
They are passionate about serving their communities and sharing gardening best practices. Master Gardener volunteers are individuals who have completed the Master Gardener training and share their time and expertise as volunteers in community gardens, city beautification projects, and farmers markets to name a few.
