Mar 07, 2014 · The new facility is located at 130 Riverview Drive in Jackson next to the KLLM corporate offices. The partnership between Hinds Community College and KLLM Driving Academy is approved by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, through Hinds Community College. Participants receive college credit hours via Hinds online business courses.
After the 6 weeks of training with a KLLM certified trainer, you then take an upgrade test. Upon passing it, you then have an opportunity to gain employment as a professional truck driver with KLLM. This online orientation will discuss policies and procedures of online classes as well as prepare you for using Canvas, the website where classes are hosted, and gauge your readiness to be successful in an online class. Short surveys will be administered in each class based on information found in this material.

Upon registering for courses, you will be automatically enrolled into the program. Once you’ve successfully selected your courses, the bookstore will start preparing your order.
Students should begin logging into their course shells on the first day of scheduled classes. Attendance will be counted the first week so be sure to complete all work assigned. Students can request classes from any college in the MSVCC consortium, however there are some requirements that must be met. First, the course must be listed in the Hinds CC current catalog with the same number of credit hours. Second, the instructor must be approved by Hinds faculty credential standards.
All online courses taught by Hinds Community College are required to have at least two proctored exams. A proctored exam is scheduled with a “proctor” in a secure testing environment. The proctor will receive a password that will allow the student to test for their scheduled course. Please see your course schedule for when to schedule these tests.

Originally, KLLM Transport Services was a truck brokerage whose main order of business was transporting exempt goods across the southern United States.
KLLM has come a long way from its humble beginnings when it only had three tractor-trailer combos. Now, with a fleet of 1,500 tractors and 2,400 refrigerated tractor-trailers, KLLM Transport services all 48 contiguous states and Mexico on a daily basis.
Your Commercial Learner’s Permit (CLP) and COmmercial Driver’s License (CDL) is paid for by the school. Your paid CDL training is only 22 days long. The Internship Program is only 6 weeks long and pays $73.57 per day, up to $514.99 per week, and a minimum of $2,400 total.
OTR drivers receive $225 at the end of orientation. 1 year OTR drivers earn 1 week of vacation pay and 2-year OTR drivers earn 2 weeks of vacation pay. OTR drivers receive individual and family medical & vision insurance, a prescription card, and dental coverage after 90 days.
