The athletes course (ages 12+) “USA Swimming Safe Sport for Athletes” will expire from the LEARN dashboard after 18 months. Athletes (ages 12+) will need to take this course again when the club is planning to renew their Safe Sport Club Recognition status.
ATHLETE PROTECTION TRAINING REQUIREMENT The APT requirement has changed. Beginning February 4, 2019, APT education on LEARN will incorporate the U.S. Center for SafeSport’s training courses in a four-year training cycle. The first year, you must take the SafeSport TM Trained 90-minute core course.
The required courses are found on the USA Swimming LEARN site and will be renewed annually. All non-athlete members of USA Swimming and all adult athletes (age 18+) are required to complete the Athlete Protection Training by clicking the link below.
Athlete Abuse Prevention Policy (AAPP)M As a membership requirement, adult athletes who are currently 18 and older must complete this training. Adult athletes will be given a 30-day grace period in which to complete the training. Those athlete members who are 17, about to turn 18, must complete this training by their 18thbirthday.
New or renewing athlete memberships processed on or after September 1 will be valid through December of the following year. Registration cannot be denied to any athlete without a formal hearing before a Board of Review in accordance with USA Swimming Rules and Regulations, Article 401, Hearings and Appeals.

2021 USA Swimming Flex Membership is $20. After 2 swim meets, in order to enter a 3rd sanctioned USA Swimming meet the membership must be upgraded to the Full membership (CA will invoice $60 per swimmer to upgrade to Full).
