To obtain a registration you must submit a completed application, a Verification of Training Affidavit, and an $18 fee to the TSBPE. Applicants for the Drain Cleaner and Residential Utilities Installer Registrations must also submit Employer Certification Form (s).

The TSBPE will only award credit for a 6-hour CPE course offered by a provider approved by the Board. The Board must also approve anyone who instructs CPE or publishes the course materials that serve as the basis of a CPE course.
Once signed on to the roster web site using the provider registration and PIN, the provider need only enter the license numbers of those licensees completing a course. The PIN can be found on the registration certificate sent to each provider. The PIN may be requested by sending an email containing the registered provider name and number.

This was intended to reduce the training time and costs incurred by any Class B CDL holder upgrading to a Class A CDL. March 20, 2020: FMCSA Amends Entry-Level Driver Training Final Rule. Compliance date moved back to February 7, 2022.
February 7, 2022: ELDT Compliance Date. Beginning February 7, 2022, an entry-level driver will only be permitted to take the relevant CDL skills or knowledge test after completing the training required by the ELDT regulations, from a provider listed on the Training Provider Registry.
