CSULB offers many scholarship opportunities for students. Scholarships are categorized by Campus Scholarships and External Scholarships. The university automatically generates refunds two weeks after census, which is approximately 6 weeks after the start of the semester. If you drop all classes prior to the first day of instruction or drop from full time to part time on or prior to the last day of self-service registration you may submit an Application for Refund of Fees.

If you made a payment on your CSULB charges prior to your financial aid awards being released, and your financial aid would have been sufficient to cover your charges, you will receive a refund of your payment; however, there is usually a 3 – 4 week processing time involved in issuing refunds of payments.

Because of the coronavirus outbreak, a number of colleges and universities have said they will offer refunds of fees and room and board if students are sent home, although the reimbursement policies vary from school to school — and nearly all of them have drawn the line at tuition.
After the second week of the term, withdrawals can impact progress towards degree, future course enrollment, and future financial aid eligibility. In addition, the withdrawal units will be applied to the student's Undergraduate Withdrawal Limit (18 units over the course of their entire CSULB undergraduate career).
E-Refund. E-Refund is the CSULB policy for receiving any refund. E-Refund electronically deposits to your bank's checking or savings account any refund due to you from the university including financial aid disbursements that is in excess of your charges.
Once you have been awarded financial aid, all you have to do is register for courses. Your aid will automatically pay for the courses you have registered for.
Usually the disbursement period for refunds is about three to four weeks into the semester, yet certain schools may have a particular timeframe that they follow. When a FAFSA refund check is disbursed, a student likely will have the option in which the payment is made.
Generally, your school will give you your grant or loan money in at least two payments called disbursements. In most cases, your school must give you your grant or loan money at least once per term (semester, trimester, or quarter).
Financial Aid Refunds This typically happens two business days after the disbursement date. Refunds will be mailed to you, unless you sign up for direct deposit.
A W grade (Withdrawal) is granted for approved withdrawals and does not affect your GPA. You may withdraw from a maximum of 18 units during your CSULB undergraduate career. A WE (Withdrawal for Extenuating Circumstances) grade is granted for approved medical or catastrophic withdrawal.
In most cases, you withdraw from a college by formally stating your intention in writing and noting an official date of withdrawal, but the registrar may have other paperwork for you to fill out as well. If you live on campus, talk to the housing office to find out when you need to move out and turn in your keys.
You may drop courses online using MyCSUEB until the end of the University's Drop Period. After the Drop Period ends, you must complete a Withdrawal Form with an authorized signature from the department responsible for the course(s) until the Withdrawal Deadline.
All refunds take approximately four weeks to process.

The form is available electronically via Single-Sign On (SSO) Portal to view or download and print or save on your computer. To see your form 1098-T, select the Other Financial Box under Finances. From the drop down menu select View 1098-T and then choose the year you need.
If you do not pay by your payment due date, you may be dropped from your classes unless you have a financial aid fee deferment in place.
Citations may be appealed online within 21 calendar days from the day of issue.
