Some prisoners have a biography text defined by people who bought the "Name in the Game" package of Prison Architect. These biographies, however, don't affect the convictions. These sentences dictate how long the prisoner will stay in prison. A prisoner may have multiple sentences.
Satisfying basic prisoner needs is one of the most important activities in Prison Architect. If needs are met, prisoners are more cooperative and are less likely to commit acts of violence or vandalism.
The gradings for all your released prisoners are combined together and shown in the "Prison Grading" view in the upper-left corner of the UI, next to the Bureaucracy button. This screen shows what type of prison you have produced, and how successful you have been.
The prisoner profile (also referred to as the 'rap sheet') is accessed by clicking the prisoner whose profile you wish to view and contains 4 tabs of information.
I canèt find it anywhere in the tabs in the thing at the bottom right. Top left corner, there is a little green/red icon, I believe. You need to have 10 prisoners released to see the prison grading.
Instead of the game simply ending, the player is still allowed to view their prison in its final moments. This is similar to how Dungeon Keeper operated when the player met with failure; they would become a ghost and could watch their dungeon crumble.

As of Update 7, Prisoners are now able to sleep during the daytime, allowing nocturnal regime schedules.
Warden Mode is a new gamemode added during the 2017 Christmas Update (Build 13). It is essentially the flip side of Escape Mode but you are controlling the Warden directly with the WASD keys and the fog of war is also enabled only cleared if the warden has a line of sight.
Go into the deployment screen. Select the death row designator in the bottom right corner. With the designator selected click on the cell/ cell block that you want to have marked as death row only.
As of the most recent census in 2005, BJS estimated the ratio of inmates to correctional officers in state prisons nationwide was 4.9 to 1, or about 10 officers for every 49 inmates. For federal prisons, BJS put the ratio at 10.3 to 1.
So basically how the deployment schedule works, is for every hour of the day, the game checks what time it is, and what number is assigned to that time of day. Then, it changes the deployment around according to what deployment is assigned to that number.
Prisoners can only take part in one program at a time, and may only attend one session in that program per day. Most programs are voluntary, but prisoners will be less likely to volunteer for programs if they are badly treated.
Suppressed prisoners are less likely to volunteer for a program, and gang members will not participate in any voluntary program at all (so do Death Row prisoners, as they don't follow any Regime at all).
The Classroom serves as a place for scheduled education of Prisoners ( Educational Programs) taught by a teacher (external staff), and Guards ( Tazer Certification) taught by the Chief . Guards and prisoners can attempt to retake classes they fail if they choose to.
General Education Course. The Foundation Education Program is 10 sessions long, and the General Education Program is 20 sessions long, and (when successfully completed) represent a significant boost to the Prisoner's Reform section.
The tazer rollout classes are taught by the Chief (which must be hired and the appropriate research completed), and 10 guards can join per one hour sessions.
However, prisoners sometimes get rowdy in class so resuming guard patrol immediately upon class completion may save the life of a teacher if prisoners are getting out of control (this is one of the trickiest but best uses of micromanagement for guard patrols)
Most often this occurs because either prisoners have no access to a canteen (e.g if they are behind a locked door), or the kitchen output is too low to ensure all inmates are fed. A starving prisoner's name is replaced with 'STARVING' in capital letters, will start to take damage and soon die if they are not fed quickly.
After a prisoner has received the withdrawal status effect once, that prisoner is less likely to abuse that substance but will not remove the need completely, treatment will still be needed to completely remove. A safety need is applied to a prisoner after going through withdrawal (unconfirmed).
Suppressed. A Suppressed Prisoner. Suppressed prisoners are much less likely to cause trouble. Spending lots of time suppressed also greatly improves both the "Punishment" and "Security" grading of the prisoner, greatly reducing their re-offending rate. However, suppressed prisoners move slower.
Prisoners can become suppressed by two different ways. The first is punishment, either Solitary Confinement or Lockdown. The second is proximity to Riot Guards, Armed Guards, snipers, or PA System s who generate a eight, 12 or 30 tile suppression field. (The tile of guards themselves not included).
This effect makes them less likely to misbehave, and will allow them to stop others from fighting.
Prisoners who have incurred the "Surrendered" status effect will stand still with their hands in the air until the effect wears off. Sometimes, a single warning shout or gunshot from an armed guard will cause multiple prisoners to surrender.
To treat a prisoner, call a doctor or paramedic nearby, and their sickness "need" will begin decreasing. However they will still be infectious.
This reform program is lead by an external teacher which will be present during the periods of time when the session will be held.
To make the most out of the amount paid for the reform program, it is recommended to place at least 10 School Desks in the Classroom.
