What is a degree or graduate level apprenticeship?

Degree or graduate level apprenticeship. This is a new type of higher level apprenticeship, which can lead to a bachelors degree as part of an apprenticeship. It is important to check the full details of a given job and apprenticeship with the employer and training provider.

What is blended learning?

Blended learning combines face-to-face sessions with online learning, giving a good mix of learning from the experts and teaching yourself, with course materials available online.

What is integrated masters?

There are also courses which include postgraduate-level study, known as integrated master's. Integrated master's being at undergraduate level, then continue for an extra year (or more) so you're awarded a master's degree at the end. These are most common in engineering or science subjects.

What is a foundation year?

They are generally one year, full-time courses delivered at a university or college, and can be offered as a 'standalone' course, or as part of a degree.

Is UK degree specialised?

UK degree courses tend to be very specialised from day one, allowing students to focus on their chosen subject. However, there are others that allow you more flexibility in what you study. Make sure you read the course descriptions carefully, and click through to university websites for further information.

Is a foundation degree the same as a foundation degree?

Foundation degrees are usually two-year courses (longer if part-time), that are equivalent to the first two years of an undergraduate degree. They are not the same as a foundation year. These can be a good destination for school leavers at 18, as they offer a qualification that can help gain degree entry.

Does UCAS have a central admissions service?

You will find some distance and blended courses advertised in the UCAS search tool and some on university or college websites. UCAS does not provide a central admissions service for distance or blended learning – you will need to apply directly to the university or college to be considered for the programme.

What's available for purchase online?

All K12 courses are available for purchase online. We offer over 100 K–8 independent study courses, which do not require a teacher, as well as more than 240 K–12 teacher-supported courses, including world languages.

What payment options do you accept?

We accept all major credit cards—Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover. For orders placed via phone, we also accept wire transfers.

Are there any discounts available?

Yes! K12 offers several types of discounts based on the number of courses, number of students, and the payment plan you choose. Learn more about discounts and special offers on our pricing page .

If I add courses later, will I still get the volume discount?

No. You can purchase more courses at any time; however, you will not be eligible for the volume discounts for the new courses. The volume and sibling discounts are applicable only for the independent study courses purchased within one transaction (together).

When can I begin a course?

We offer start dates every two weeks for K12 independent study courses. K12 teacher-supported courses have set start dates from which you select when you purchase the course. All world language courses are also offered every two weeks.
