We’ve already got some Evil Dead: The Game Survivor tips, but in this guide we’re covering the lone player that appears in each game: the Demon. There are several Demons to choose from in Evil Dead: The Game, but each of them play pretty similarly until you start manifesting yourself on the battlefield.

Infernal energy

As a Demon, everything you do requires Infernal Energy. Luckily this resource is strewn all over the map, and does respawn over the course of a game. You can see your supply of energy from the bottom center red gauge on the screen.

Upgrades

Tapping down on the d-pad will open up an upgrades menu, and you should be spending your points in here as often as you get them. Upgrades will allow you to perform new actions – you can’t actually summon those enemies and become a boss monster without upgrades – and you’ll also be able to inflict more fear and do more damage to your enemies.

Traps

There are traps everywhere, and you should be arming them as often as your supply of Infernal Energy allows, but you should also think sensibly about which traps to activate.

Inflicting fear

Survivors are all susceptible to Fear, which gets inflicted whenever they take damage, are surprised by a trap, or Possession of an object. Sounds superfluous, but actually a filled Fear meter makes the Survivors far more vulnerable, especially to one move in particular…

Possession

Possession is the act of taking control of an object or character. Sounds simple, you can take control of the Deadite NPCs in order to hunt down those pesky Survivors, in addition to trees and certain objects. But even better, you can take control of the Survivors themselves.

Placing portals

With enough Infernal Energy and the right upgrades, you’ll be able to place portals around the world, and these are essential. You can either place proximity traps that activate when Survivors get close by, or place portals that instantly spawn Deadites for you to fight alongside.
