So, this means that while you are suspended, you could take courses at another university or from a community college. If you decide to enroll somewhere else while suspended from UCSD, DO check with your academic advisors beforehand to ensure that you take the appropriate courses for your major or degree.

IGETC is a series of California community college courses that meet UC San Diego lower-division general education (GE) requirements at UC San Diego's Muir, Marshall, Roosevelt, Sixth and Warren colleges. Revelle College requires students with IGETC to complete these additional requirements before transfer, or while enrolled at UC San Diego: 3 courses in mathematics and 5 courses in natural science.
Additional Courses in ESL or Physical Education. A maximum of 4 semester (6 quarter) units of Physical Education may be applied toward the 60-unit requirement to transfer. A maximum of 8 semester (12 quarter) units of English as a Second Language (ESL) may be applied toward the 60-unit requirement to transfer.
Revelle College requires students with IGETC to complete these additional requirements before transfer, or while enrolled at UC San Diego: 3 courses in mathematics and 5 courses in natural science. If you plan to follow the IGETC, consider: partial IGETC is also possible.
We strongly recommend that you also indicate an alternate major on your UC application and that your alternate major not be capped. If you are not admitted to a capped major, you may be admitted to your alternate uncapped major. If you are not admitted into a capped major or you have not selected an alternate major, you will not be admitted to the university.
All courses completed at a UC campus during a regular or summer session (excluding UC Extension) are transferable. UC Extension courses numbering 1–199 are also transferable. Completion of the 7-course pattern is not required for applicants from other UC campuses.

UC San Diego accepts transfer students at the junior (third year) level only. A transfer applicant may be considered in senior standing if he or she has completed: 70 semester units (or more) of lower-division coursework; and. 20 semester units (or more) of upper-division coursework.
If your equivalent credit or official test results have not posted to your academic records, then you should submit a request for a preauthorization using the Enrollment Authorization System (EASy).

The IB Mathematics Standard Level (SL) Exam does not give you credit for a UCSD math course and it does not satisfy prerequisites for UCSD math courses. You must take the MPE if you do not meet other prerequisite criteria.
High school credit for an AP Calculus course does not satisfy prerequisites for UCSD math courses. You must take the MPE if you do not meet other prequisite criteria. See Placement In Math Classes.
If the course has been approved for transfer equivalency, and you passed the course with a C- or better, you may enroll directly into the next level calculus course without taking the MPE. If your course is not approved for transfer equivalency, then you might be able to petition the Math Department for credit. Be sure to request that the community college send your transcript to UCSD as soon as your qualified course is completed.
The scores for the SAT Mathematics Level 2 Subject Test, and the AP Calculus AB score of "2" are valid for placement for 2 years. The Math Placement Exam (MPE) is valid for one year. AP Calculus scores of (3,4,5) and the IB HL 5 or higher do not expire for earning credit.
If you do not earn this required grade, you will be automatically removed from the class requiring the prerequisite. This removal will occur after semester grades are published if you are taking the prerequisite at UI. (See below for more information about "in progress" prerequisites being taken at other institutions.)
A: If a course has a prerequisite, it will be listed on MyUI; you will find the prerequisites within the course information page, visible when you click on the course link.
A: A prerequisite is generally a course that you must complete before enrolling in a second course. Sometimes a student is given a choice of prerequisites to complete. In the example below, the student must complete PHYS:1511 (College Physics I) OR PHYS: 1611 (Introductory Physics I) before taking College Physics II.
A: You must report evidence of your final grade even if it is not an official transcript. You might be able to send a screen shot of your grades from an online grade book or some similar evidence. This evidence cannot just be your statement that you have earned the required final grade; you must also send proof to the department via email as an attachment. Make sure you include your name, your UI ID number, the course you are taking at another institution, the number and name of the course, and the course at UI that you want to remain in. The department offering that course will decide whether or not to let you to remain registered in the course. If you do not send proof of your final grade, your registration in the course will be canceled around three business days before the next semester starts.
See the math course below, for example. The prerequisite course of MATH:1005 requires a minimum grade of C- before the student may take MATH:1340. The student could also fulfill the prerequisite in this case by taking one of the math placement tests listed below, scoring at an appropriate level or higher.
Secondly, after adding a seat in a course because you have been given conditional permission to register for it, you still must submit evidence of your final grade in the course or you will be removed automatically from the course about three days before the next semester begins.
